Most of you must already be aware that Spor‘s debut album “Caligo” is now up for grabs as the noise been made around this release by the alter ego of Feed Me is both well deserved and big enough for any fan of electronic music to have escaped its frequencies. “Caligo” has been made available through BitTorrent (here) with a “pay as much as you want” option by mr Gooch and his Sotto Voce Records imprint for a few days already but is now available for full streaming on Spor‘s Soundcloud and we, as well as almost every electronic music blog, couldn’t have ignored its existence. 13 original tracks, featuring a couple collaborations with James Hadouken (of Hadouken) as well as Tasha Baxter. Definitely an album Continue reading »
Starting the day with a new release and we go straight to “dirty” mode as finally Dirtyphonics have made their comeback with a new release. Some of you might remember featuring their track “Power” (feat. Matt Rose) here a few months ago which made it clear that some new Dirtyphonics material was on the way, after quite some time. And finally the new EP has been released on Dim Mak Records a few days ago, including “Power” as well as three more original tracks. All four tracks on the EP are collaborations, with Matt Rose lending his voice on one more track. As for the other names appearing on Dirtyphonics‘ “Write The Future”, UZ, Trinidad Jame$, 12th Planet and Julie Hardy have all contributed to the new “dirty” EP. Great production and the sound we know and love by Dirtyphonics and despite maybe being slightly on the softer side than previous releases, admittedly this is a release of great overall quality, even if we’re not big fans of Dirtyphonics going Trap. Definitely one to check out, whether you’re a long term “dirty” fan or not. Continue reading »
Here comes a preview of the new Dub Elements LP “Experiments”, out today on Mass Bass. An album that includes twelve original tracks by the Spanish duo moving between Electro House, Dubstep, Trap, Breaks, Drum N Bass and pretty much covering all spectrums and subgenres of “EDM”. Some heavier and harder than others, some more main stage and Beaport chart targetted, all tracks sound good and tight from the production side although being perfectly honest we would prefer to hear more of the harder and heavier sound (e.g. “Bullshit”, “Yesterday And Always”, “Sulphur”) and less of the mainstream one. Still, for those who are more into the whole EDM and big festival sound than we are (and we are not that big on that sound to be honest) “Experiments” LP should be a release they will enjoy so check it out. Contiuing today’s bass assualt with some damn great sounding Drum N Bass and a preview of The Clamps‘ ucpoming “Dvouglas” EP, which is set for release on February 23rd via Citrus Recordings and boy does it sound like a release to look forward to!? Two Drum N Bass huge originals that will suck you in right from the start with the atmosphere the chant like vocals of the opening and EP same-titled create track to only spit you back out when the bass kicks in so you can keep moving non-stop until the very last second of the EP (or at least of this preview). Great energy, rhythm and power overall and if you enjoy good Drum N Bass then this is one you’re going to love. We did and hopefully we’re going to love it even more on February 23 when it’s officially released and get to listen to the full tracks. Until then… Continue reading »
Hell-o all and after a quiet last week as blogging turned out harder than we would have liked, we’re back to bass up your Monday and start the new week in a nice way. And we have some big new releases as well that came out last week, starting of course with Excision‘s “Codename X” album which released on Rottun Recordings a week ago. The Rottun and Dubstep big boss is back with 11 new tracks, some of which we’ve caught glimpses of or heard in full length before since they were released as singles and some unheard material. As for what you can expect by Excision in “Codename X”, ear pummeling Dubstep with megatons of bass and excess of power (of course) but that’s not all since the album comes with its fair share of Electro House, Glitch Hop and Drum & Bass/Drumstep tracks. Some on the heavier side and some on the more melodic, the collaborations on Excision‘s album aren’t missing either, with The Frim, Dion Timmer, Splitbreed, Messinian, Downlink, Space Laces and Pegboard Nerds appearing on “Codename X” and automatically making it a galaxy of bass music superstars. And if all of the above hasn’t convinced you about checking out Excision‘s album yet, just press play below and let your ears do their job. Continue reading »
