Here comes a preview of the new Dub Elements LP “Experiments”, out today on Mass Bass. An album that includes twelve original tracks by the Spanish duo moving between Electro House, Dubstep, Trap, Breaks, Drum N Bass and pretty much covering all spectrums and subgenres of “EDM”. Some heavier and harder than others, some more main stage and Beaport chart targetted, all tracks sound good and tight from the production side although being perfectly honest we would prefer to hear more of the harder and heavier sound (e.g. “Bullshit”, “Yesterday And Always”, “Sulphur”) and less of the mainstream one. Still, for those who are more into the whole EDM and big festival sound than we are (and we are not that big on that sound to be honest) “Experiments” LP should be a release they will enjoy so check it out. Hell-o all and after a quiet last week as blogging turned out harder than we would have liked, we’re back to bass up your Monday and start the new week in a nice way. And we have some big new releases as well that came out last week, starting of course with Excision‘s “Codename X” album which released on Rottun Recordings a week ago. The Rottun and Dubstep big boss is back with 11 new tracks, some of which we’ve caught glimpses of or heard in full length before since they were released as singles and some unheard material. As for what you can expect by Excision in “Codename X”, ear pummeling Dubstep with megatons of bass and excess of power (of course) but that’s not all since the album comes with its fair share of Electro House, Glitch Hop and Drum & Bass/Drumstep tracks. Some on the heavier side and some on the more melodic, the collaborations on Excision‘s album aren’t missing either, with The Frim, Dion Timmer, Splitbreed, Messinian, Downlink, Space Laces and Pegboard Nerds appearing on “Codename X” and automatically making it a galaxy of bass music superstars. And if all of the above hasn’t convinced you about checking out Excision‘s album yet, just press play below and let your ears do their job. Continue reading »

Changing the mood and style with our second post of the day, since we are leaving the hard and dark Electro behind for some pretty nice Glitch Hop and Drum & Bass by Flybug and his latest single titled “Party Animal”. Released on Jet Set Trash a couple of days before the end of 2014 (December 29), “Party Animal” features once more the London (UK) based hip-hop trio Vice Versa on vocals and a remix by RoughMath, who transformed the Glitch Hop original mix into some super sick Drumstep. Nice production and lots of bass on both the original and remix and overall a pretty nice release which was definitely nice to see climbing to the Top 10 Beatport releases earlier this month. Check out “Party Animal” if you haven’t yet!

Hell-o to all and today we start the day with the return of an artist who hasn’t been featured here for quite some time since he hasn’t been so active lately, but we are definitely glad to welcome him back on Metalectro with a new release. And thy name is Oxylice, who just had his comeback EP “Crossroads” released on Simplify Recordings just over a week ago. Including 3 original tracks “Crossroads” EP is a very nice mix of Glitch Hop, ElectroHouse (with the classic Oxylice complextro parts) and Dubstep with nice production and overall flow. Definitely a nice comeback release by the youngster from Belgium which makes us hope he’s back for good and is already cooking up some more fresh music. Check out “Crossroads” EP!

Going on with some fresh blood and the debut feature of UK based artist Inque here with his debut EP, titled “Witching Hour”. Out on London based Sons Of Noise Records almost a month ago, “Withcing Hour” EP comes with 4 original track which move between Dubstep, Electro, Drum & Bass, Glitch Hop and pretty much each and every electronic bass music sub-genre, something that has works pretty nice as Inque has successfully managed to maintain a dark and heavy atmosphere throughout the EP. Definitely a release that has left us with a very positive buzz in our ears and places Inque on our radar for good as one of those new and “to be watched closely” up and comers. Check his debut EP and stay tuned for more by him.
