Review: SBCR “SBCR & Friends” Vol. 1

After a much needed short break from blogging we’re back as of today and as expected when taking time off we have plenty of fresh new bassy electronic music coming since good music doesn’t wait. So time to catch up with what we’ve missed the last couple of weeks, starting with the release of the debut SBCR (Sir Bob Cornelius Rifo aka The Bloody Beetroots) EP released on Dim Mak a couple of weeks ago. 5 new original tracks, out of which 4 are collaborations with Razihel, Moon Bounce and Eliza Bee & His Majesty Andre plus “The Grid” which we have already posted and talked about before in a previous post. Overall a pretty enjoyable release and debut for the hard Electro scene legend Sir Bob, including tracks more reminiscent of The Bloody Beetroots older sound and some more “fresh” sounding ones and if anyhing he proves it doesn’t matter what name he’s releasing music under there is always a lot to look forward to in his new releases and sets the bar high right from the start for his SBCR project.

Preview: SBCR “SBCR & Friends” Vol. 1

For those following Metalectro on a regular basis, you must (or should be aware) of an exclusive preview/work in proggress track we posted last week for an upcoming SBCR (Sir Bob Cornelius Rifo) & Haezer collaboration. For those who didn’t know SBCR will be the personal project of Sir Bob, while The Bloody Beetroots will remain a rock influenced electronic live act. The truth is that we weren’t able to get much info about this rumoured collaboration between the two when we got in touch with Haezer about it but almost immediately after that a SBCR track went online on Dim Mak‘s Soundcloud, from the upcoming “SBCR & Friends” Vol. 1 compilation which will be out on the 17th of March. The said compilation with feature six collaborations with Razihel, Moon Bounce and Eliza Bee & His Majesty Andre. And this only came to pretty much confirm that Vol.02 of “SBCR & Friends” is probably already in the works, with Haezer being one of the collaborators Sir Bob has personally hand picked. Review: Dirtyphonics “Write Your Future” EP

Starting the day with a new release and we go straight to “dirty” mode as finally Dirtyphonics have made their comeback with a new release. Some of you might remember featuring their track “Power” (feat. Matt Rose) here a few months ago which made it clear that some new Dirtyphonics material was on the way, after quite some time. And finally the new EP has been released on Dim Mak Records a few days ago, including “Power” as well as three more original tracks. All four tracks on the EP are collaborations, with Matt Rose lending his voice on one more track. As for the other names appearing on Dirtyphonics‘ “Write The Future”, UZ, Trinidad Jame$, 12th Planet and Julie Hardy have all contributed to the new “dirty” EP. Great production and the sound we know and love by Dirtyphonics and despite maybe being slightly on the softer side than previous releases, admittedly this is a release of great overall quality, even if we’re not big fans of Dirtyphonics going Trap. Definitely one to check out, whether you’re a long term “dirty” fan or not. Continue reading »

Let’s go on with another remix which is out now on Dim Mak Records. ‘Who are you’ has also been remixed by Pilo, Attaque and The Sneekers but i chose to pick Trumpdisco‘s remix as i thought it was the loudest of all. The original track is already a great one but Trumpdisco gave it a new dimension that makes the remix such a banger ! Trumpdisco will definitely chew up your soul, ingest it and regurgitate it as pure electronic mayhem !! So don’t waste time, give it a listen and grab your copy !!
