Here comes a preview of the new Dub Elements LP “Experiments”, out today on Mass Bass. An album that includes twelve original tracks by the Spanish duo moving between Electro House, Dubstep, Trap, Breaks, Drum N Bass and pretty much covering all spectrums and subgenres of “EDM”. Some heavier and harder than others, some more main stage and Beaport chart targetted, all tracks sound good and tight from the production side although being perfectly honest we would prefer to hear more of the harder and heavier sound (e.g. “Bullshit”, “Yesterday And Always”, “Sulphur”) and less of the mainstream one. Still, for those who are more into the whole EDM and big festival sound than we are (and we are not that big on that sound to be honest) “Experiments” LP should be a release they will enjoy so check it out. Hell-o all and it’s not very often that you will see us posting about mau5trap releases on this blog so in case you’re wondering whether we’re might be going “soft” we ensure you that isn’t the case but on the contrary it’s the specific release that features a couple of tracks by two artists you most likely know and love as much as we do that really caught our attention. The majority of the tracks on “We Are Friends” Vol.03 might not be down our alley to be honest but but we couldn’t ignore these two bright (or actually dark if we want to be more precise) exceptions by any means. One of them comes by an artist who has been a member of the mau5trap roster for a few months and is no other than Proxy, who has contributed with a heavy trasher titled “Oldboy” on the release and let us tell you, this is Proxy at his best (or very close at least). The second track we have picked from “We Are Friends” Vol.03 comes by Frenchman Neus, who too joins mau5trap and his new track is really something of a special treat. “Amanita” is the title of Neus‘s new track who’s going for some atmospheric and relaxed guitar driven Electronica. Quite a soundtrack feel to it and definitely great intro music for anything you do, even more to open today’s blogging session with. Here are both tracks so check them out! Continue reading »

Going on with another new release and new track that brings back on Metalectro the Swedish dark lord of Electronic music, the one and only Owl Vision! Super productive and inspired as always (or for the last 4-5 years at least) Owl Vision returns with a new single, titled “Maggots”, released on his own imprint Comorbid Records and you all know what that means. Dark enough Electro to send chills down your spine and the kind of music that will give you goose bumps and an ear infection. So prepare for the shivers and let the “maggots” in, or just turn the volume up, hit play and enjoy Owl Vision‘s new track. We most definitely did! “Maggots” is available to purchase or download for free by the way, so pick your poison and enjoy! Continue reading »

Hell-o and a great start to the new week to all! Starting our blogging session a bit later than usual today since we got slightly sidetrack first by Soundcloud and then by our opening post been taken off Soundcloud in a move that is most likely aiming at boosting Spotify streams since the full release was publicly available for some days now, up until a few hours ago. Anyway, hopefully it will be available on the label/artist Soundcloud again soon enough and we’ll be able to finally share with you but for now lets move on to another new release, coming the Pharaohs of hard Electro, Against Humanity, who had their “New World Order” EP out on THU Records a few days ago. Three originals that move between the trashy Electro we’re used to hearing by the duo mixed with more Dubstep-y sound design, parts and elements, something Against Humanity have done before in their previous production as well anyway. “Intoxicated” has to be the track we would pick as our favorite (if we had to) out of what is overall a pretty nice release, especially if you like your Electro hard and loud. Check it out! Continue reading »

Staying on the dark path we took with today’s opening post and here’s Beatbender‘s official video for “Elevate”, from their upcoming debut album, out February 23 on Jet Set Trash. The video, which was filmed and directed by Hugo Magalhães of H-M photography, focuses on beautifully dark and atmospheric imagery which suits the mood of the track perfectly well. Besides it’s not unusual for a music video not to follow a story or narrative, something that works pretty well in “Elevate” and doesn’t make it a less enjoyable experience by any means but on the contrary it compliments the track. As for the track itself, it’s a nice, fresh and dark track which falls more under general Electronica rather than any EDM-esque Electro House sound, as is the whole “Elevate” LP too. If you want to get a more in depth taste you can check the LP minimix here or simply stay tuned for a more extended album review soon. Continue reading »
