Speaking about good remixes in the last post, how about our undisputed king of darkness remix of the day next? Well, those of you familiar with the names mentioned in the track and post title really or frequent followers of Metalectro should know what’s coming without even reading any further as if there is one thing we can be absolutely certain of is that when Gost is remixing Carpenter Brut the result can be nothing less than evil dark and brutal sounding 80s synthwave with a trashy edge. And that’s exactly what the remix Gost did on “Roller Mobster” sounds like as well. Out on Blood Music as a special Halloween treat on October 31 these two definitely haven’t heard of the “trick or treat” tradition since there is no room for tricks left here. Full power and distortion and the only thing missing really is some more music with these two artists collaborating or remixing each other, but we are pretty sure it won’t be long before we are to face to face with some more electronic terror coming by them. So, here’s “Roller Mobster”, Gost style and our remix of the day, so check it out, go grab your copy from Bandcamp and let all digital hell break loose!
It’s not often that you will see Deadmau5 mentioned on Metalectro since we pride ourselves in not bothering with any gossip, twitter arguments or non directly music related posts and although there is no much room for argument about Deadmau5′ offerings to the electronic music world really, there’s also not much music coming by him which we could feature here. But in any case, the mau5 is back on Metalectro after a long time thanks to the Canadian duo who goes by the name Botnek and their remix of “Maths”. A loud and dirty(er) Electro remix that definitely gives a much needed energy boost to the original, according to our taste and earbuds that is. The remix will be released on the “5yrs of deadmau5” anniversay remix album, to be released on Mau5trap Records on November 24th, alongside remixes by Dillon Francis, Shiba San, Nero, Eric Prydz, Madeon and more. So far Botnek‘s remix holds pole position for our favorite remix out of the ones we have already heard from the upcoming ablum, although we assume there will be some more great ones for sure to come by some of the artists involved in this project. That remains to be seen (or actually be heard) so for now here’s Botnek‘s remix – hit play and check it out!
Hell-o all and today we’ll be continuing the rich in bass new release frenzy with some more heavy Electro sounds, so let’s jump straight into the good stuff with the Lazer Lazer Lazer & Helix High collaboration EP titled “The Masterplan”. Released on Firepower Records on November 04th, “The Masterplan” EP includes 3 collaboration originals from Lazer Lazer Lazer & Helix High plus one track from each artist. For all those who have been following the “lazers” since their early unofficial remixes for Knife Party’s “Sleaze” or any of the other free remixes they came up with, it might have taken a while for Lazer Lazer Lazer‘s official debut release but the wait was definitely worth it. As expected the high production quality and Kinfe Party-esque sound is back and we have to admit we are actually pretty happy with the “lazer” taking this expected but really great sounding route. The similarities might be a tad too many and the tracks might bring to mind the harder Knife Party Electro days but when it sounds as good as it does in “The Masterplan” EP noone can complain really. Besides, we no doubt prefer this than the more Top 10 friendly approach followed by many other artists. So if you’re looking for top production that is as close as it gets to the good old harder Knife Party and a super boosted full of energy new release “The Masterplan” EP is exactly what you’re looking for.
How about some mid-week bangers? Well, we like our bangers all days and hours really so that was a rhetorical question and today we have a couple ones you shouldn’t miss no matter what. For starters, how about a new original by by our favorite robo-metal-monster that goes by the name Zardonic? Veneuela’s finest and heaviest has a new EP coming out on December 9 and the self-titled track from “For Justice” EP was just made available publicly today, meaning we had to pick our keyboards up and make sure to deliver you some guitar fueled electronic madness by one of Metalectro’s finest. The metal influences are obviously there as is often the case with Zardonic but this time he left his Drum N Bass roots behind as the track moves in a more Electro direction and tempo. Venezuelan guitar virtuoso Tadeo Díaz has also contributed in “For Justice” by adding some lead guitar and it’s safe to say that judging by the first taste we had from the upcoming EP then Zardonic‘s “For Justice” EP is definitely a release to look forward to. Check out the track, pre-order the EP here if you like and stay tuned for more Zardonic soon!
Speaking about good sounding track here’s a new original by Autopunk featuring Mak Others on vocals that will take you a few years back to the good hard Electro days and the big bass sexy sounding collaborations of Haezer with Circe. At least that’s what came to mind when listening to this Autopunk & Mak Others track which definitely encapsulates all those great things we got to love during the golden hard Electro days and pushes even further by adding a much more polished yet powerful and contemporary sound. Boost, energy and groove are three of the things you can expect in “We Own The Night” and a great combination of heavy but not over-distorted pumping bassline which matches perfectly the great vocals by Mak Others. Definitely one of the best works we have heard from Autopunk up to date and a also a great introduction of Mak Others too and a track which leaves us hungry for more. We will be keeping our Metalectro eye on these two and hope to listen to more like this, whether on another collaboration or in individual projects. In the meawhile enjoy this very nice track!
