The summer is well upon us and we might be taking it slow(er) than usual but we aren’t completely dead nor deaf (yet), so despite the already high temperatures here’s some new hot music too. Today’s menu is made out of a couple new Dubstep releases and two new artists who haven’t been featured here before such as Hugeative from Baltimore (USA) who had his “Crime Season” EP out on Firepower Records three weeks ago. “Crime Season” comes with 4 originals and just as you’d expect from a Firepower Records release with pretty high production standards. Of course the “hybrid” nature Dubstep/Trap track couldn’t be missing too since it has become almost a standard on most Dubstep releases nowadays, something we might not the biggest fans of but doesn’t mean the track itself can’t be good anyway. As for “Crime Season” EP, if you’re looking for some chilled out summer vibes then there’s nothing for you here so you better keep moving but if you’re looking for some nice Dubstep then check this out and go get it here.

Weekend Bass 3It’s that time of the week again and even though we haven’t been able to keep up with our bass addiction as much as we’d like to this week, it’s never too late to get the bass cannons loaded with some nasty sounds and get loud, so that’s exactly what we’re gonna do just before we get into weekend mode. From Electro House to Dubstep and Drum N Bass, today’s track selection is packing some serious firepower (and we don’t necessarily mean the label) by Black Tiger Sex Machine and Lektrique, Figure (who hasn’t been blogged here for a while so a big bad “welcome back” to him), Hugeative (who brings some tasty fresh blood in today’s track selection), a massive collaboration by SKisM, Habstrakt and Megalodon and last but not least Muzzy (who just had a new EP out). So, ‘nuf said and we better let the music do the talking, so press play and enjoy!

MineSweepa is back with a new EP on Firepower Records and those of you who like their bass heavy and Dubstep loud should be pretty happy about it, whether fans of the USA artist or someone who’s just getting introduced to MineSweepa‘s music with “Absent” EP. Staying more on the heavy side, MineSweepa is hardly straying at all from the more traditional Dubstep sound by going either “bro” or too “hybrid” on us on the three originals. But for those who do enjoy the more melodic side of things too Shindig‘s remix of “Champagne Skin” should cover your needs as well so no reason to feel left out. A nice EP overall, as is usually the case with most releases wearing the Firepower logo and seal of approval, so do check it out! Continue reading »

While it’s another Dubstep release that’s been taking over the Internet and Electronic music blogs the last few weeks and days, we’ve decided to pass that by (for the time being at least) and focus on some less known artists who had some new music out and we felt is worth talking about. And LA based Init is definitely one of those artists with his new EP “In The Game”. Deep, dark and somewhat weird the 4 originals on “In The Game” EP, which was out on Firepower Records a couple of days ago, combine all those elements needed to make up an interesting Dubstep or hybrid Dubstep/Trap track, although often are put together in ways that made Init‘s new EP such an interesting listen. Check it out! Continue reading »

For those not really keeping up with social media and the latest in the heavy bass electronic music, Firepower Records is clebrating its 100th release and as every year and what better way to do that than the “Shell Shock Legends” compilation? 13 original tracks from all accross the 44 artist strong roster the label has built, including all the heavy artillery, with tracks from Datsik, Protohype, Tha Trickaz, Truth, Twine, Terravita, Helicopter Showdown, Getter, Downlink, PhaseOne and more. Needless to say the amounts of bass heard on the 13 tracks is both ear deafening and enormous. A mix between Dubstep and Trap for the most part, this is definitely a release all fans of the label, artists and Dubstep/Trap sound should check out so here comes “Shellshock Legends”, check it out!
