Dope DODFor some of you it might be old news (or even ancient history) but with the Dope D.O.D. new “The Ugly” EP coming up and going already on presale on the trio’s online store we thought it could be of interest to some you bassheads to know that Black Sun Empire have also contributed in Dope D.O.D.‘s new release. Yes, you read that right, the Drum & Bass heavyweight trio is responsible for the deep, dark and heavy production of “Boiling Point” and if that’s not a promising combination of names then we don’t know what is. Of course don’t expect any classic Black Sun Empire Drum & Bass madness on “Boiling Point” but rather a Dope D.O.D. track with a Black Sun Empire certificate of bass. Check out the track and let’s hope for more coming by these two toghether in the future and why not maybe even follow in the footspteps of I Am Legion with a more extensive and ongoing collaboration? Staying on the dark path we took with today’s opening post and here’s Beatbender‘s official video for “Elevate”, from their upcoming debut album, out February 23 on Jet Set Trash. The video, which was filmed and directed by Hugo Magalhães of H-M photography, focuses on beautifully dark and atmospheric imagery which suits the mood of the track perfectly well. Besides it’s not unusual for a music video not to follow a story or narrative, something that works pretty well in “Elevate” and doesn’t make it a less enjoyable experience by any means but on the contrary it compliments the track. As for the track itself, it’s a nice, fresh and dark track which falls more under general Electronica rather than any EDM-esque Electro House sound, as is the whole “Elevate” LP too. If you want to get a more in depth taste you can check the LP minimix here or simply stay tuned for a more extended album review soon. Continue reading »

Hell-o and a happy bloody Friday the 13th to all! As some of you or at least those who follow us on Facebook might already know, we had a Free Metalectro exclusive EP by Lux Cathedra planned for today and if anything we like to keep our promises so here it is! Lux Cathedra is a French artist who likes experimenting with the hard, heavy, dark trashy Electro sounds and electric guitars, all elements and sounds we too love here on Metalectro. So when he sent us his new tracks we were very happy and excited to take them on and offer them to you for free, because we simply think they should be heard by all those who still enjoy the underground and trashy Electro sound. So if the dark, heavy Electro alchemies Lux Cathedra has been cooking up sound like something that might migth be down your alley, then make sure to check out these 4 new original tracks, download them and spread “Trismegiste” EP! Our next pick for the day comes straight out of Niveau Zero‘s new EP “Underground Flavor”, released three days ago on Rottun Recordings and it’s the xKore remix of the EP same titled track. A Dubstep monsterpiece full of bass and power, that takes what was a very nice original by Niveau Zero and improves it even more (according to your earbuds at least that is). Definitely our favorite track out of “Underground Flavor” EP, which includes one more original track (a collaboration with Virus Syndicate) as well as 2 further remixes Lumberjvck and TBBT. A nice EP overall with both the original mix of “Underground Flavor” and the xKore remix in particular standing out, so check this out if you’re looking for a track to boost your adrenaline levels. Hell-o all and today we have decided to go a bit stingy with our posts so instead of posting full releases we will stick to the tracks we really thought stood out from their respective releases. So think of today’s session somewhat like a selection of newly released tracks, coming in parts. And to start with, we have something special as anytime you see these artists mentioned in the same sentence it has to be great news, let alone in the same track title. Finally, for those who had been looking forward to this one, the F.O.O.L & Didrick remix of Astronaut‘s & Far Too Loud‘s “War” is out on Monstercat and it sounds as good as one would expect it to. All the trademark sounds and characteristics that have made F.O.O.L an Electro fans favorite since the very beginning are there, perfectly balanced with the elements that made Astronaut‘s & Far Too Loud‘s original such a great track. This is Electro House at its best and a must check out remix, which definitely lives up to the expectations created by the names involved in this collaboration as well as the original. Enjoy!
