Hell-o and a good new week to all bassheads out there! And what could be a better remedy for any weekend post-partying stress disorder issues we might be struggling with on a Monday than some good music? Exactly, nothing. So let’s get right into it and we have a few bassy and good new sounds coming today, starting with what has been somewhat of a surprise release really and we don’t mean that in a bad way, just in an “unexpected” way considering the artist name on the track title. It’s no secret Belzebass have been one of the most brutal and notorious hard Electro duos for a while now and their name has grown to be a synonym of aggressive banging Electro. So when the Italian duo’s new single “Gravity Proof” was released we were a bit surprised to hear something entirely different but at the same time fresh coming from them. Of course, for those who have been following closely and their senses are more attuned to certain details, the new sound and style we hear from Belzebass on their new single shouldn’t come as such a big surprise since all the signs were there. New label, completely different aesthetics on the cover art and generally speaking by the looks of it a complete makeover or at least temporary experiment. As for the track itself, it’s moving towards a much softer, fresh and melodic Dubstep direction and it’s quite enjoyable and nice, despite the initial surprise that comes when pressing play and to hear expecting some classic  Belzebass. Whether the Belzebass we knew until now are a thing of the past or not remains to be seen, for now just check out “Gravity Proof”!

Last post for today and because this is Metalectro and we love our distorted guitars, growls and any kind of combination and mix of bass music and Metal/Punk elements, as long as it’s done right and nicely of course, here’s something to feed our Metal egos and Metalectro hungry souls and demanding eardrums. Fresh blood too since it’s only the first time Ryle is being featured here with his remix of Combichrist’s “From My Cold Dead Hands”. Needless to say this is our definite “remix of the day” pick as well and rightfully so too. The remix is available to purchase as it’s been officially released on Metropolis Records, so hit play below, check it out and you know what to do if you like it as much as we did. Play it loud!

Having opened the day with a Dubstep new release we will stick to some more of that actually and another new big Dubstep single, coming by Excision & The Frim (feat. Luciana) on Rottun Recordings. Released just a couple of days ago but anticipated since the track was heard on Excision‘s “Shambala 2014” mix back in September, “Night Shine” is what you all you would expect and hope for really by the Canadian and young but very promising and definitely already musically mature The Frim. Powerful and catchy this collaboration is simply put great and having listened to the track a few times (ok, maybe a few times too many to be precise) there isn’t anything that could have been done different in order to make it better or anything that we can think of at least. So to wrap this up since there isn’t much else to be added here except for the obvious “must check it out”, if you are looking for a huge Dubstep track for the next few months look no further and keep this close (in your iPhones, iPods and all mobilve devices really) so you can blast it anywhere and anytime!

This isn’t a new but an upcoming release and some fresh blood to make your blood boil and ears bleed! Bass overdose by the first (but we are sure not the last) time featured on Metalectro Pythius and a call to arms for all bassheads and Drum & Bass fans, with the signature of Black Sun Empire and Blackout Music and for those of you familiar with these names you should have a pretty good idea of what’s coming. For the rest, simply prepare to get blown away! Pythius new EP “Abandon” is set up for release on Nobember 17th with 5 tracks, also including a collaboration with label bosses Black Sun Empire. Two full tracks have already been made available for public streaming and we really couldn’t wait to feature them here. The EP title track “Abandon”, which is a bass monster which will devour your eardrums (and your neighboor’s too) as well as the collaboration with Black Sun Empire, titled “Desert Sand”. It is “Abandon” that really deserves all the focus and attention it can get though and trust us, it will get your attention as soon as you hit play. Just make sure you crank the volume up to appropriate loudness levels because such track must be played loud at all times. Check out the 2 tracks Pythius‘ upcoming “Abandon” EP and stay tuned for the release!

It’s been a rich week in terms of new releases already right from the start and of course that means it’s time to crank up the volume on our speakers to the max, pick  up our keyboards and let the dirty electronic music flow. And of course, with the Knife Party album finally being released after endless “leaks” we have to obviously expect this to be one of the most talked about releases, so we thought we’d have our say too. “Abandon Ship” LP was definitely a long awaited and highly anticipated release by most blogs, producers and fans alike but does it live up to the expectations? Allow us not to be entirely convinced for the time being and neither surprised really, since it was quite expected and the signs were all there for quite a while. Covering almost everything from pop to house and techno to finally some nice hard Electro which brings to mind the good old Knife Party, there is no doubt that “Abandon Ship” is definitely a release of very high production standards and also making sure that from a commercial perspective the whole “EDM” spectrum is covered. Whether that’s good or bad is up to everyone’s judgement of course so we’re not here to point any fingers. Still though, we can’t say we have enjoyed “Abandon Ship”, besides the 3 tracks we have picked out of the 12 in total to feature here. Call us closed minded if you like but when it comes to Electronic music we like it hard and loud, something that unfortunatelly came in very small doses in Knife Party’s new album. So, here are our favorite tracks out of the LP, check them out or have a listen to the full album if you prefer and decide whether to “abandon ship” or “stay onbard” yourselves.
