occams-laserHailing from Isle Of White (you don’t hear this everyday in the Electronic music scene) Occams Laser is a dark Synthwave machine who keeps producing albums non-stop, so let’s devote some of our time to his music like he has devoted endless hours producing 4 LPs (alongside 3 EPS in case the LPs aren’t enough) during the last year only. Impressive? Well, certainly yes but not as impressive as his music. Following in the footsteps of artists like Carpenter Brut, Perturbator and Gost, Occams Laser‘s music is hard, as it is dark and heavy. Heavily influenced by the sounds of the 80’s his brand of aggressive and theme based “in your face” dark Synthwave will definitely leave you wanting more and “Purgatory” LP (released a month ago) is the perfect introduction to his music. agloryParisian duo Aglory are back once more with a new EP. Dark, deep and heavy Electronica/Techno, as anyone familiar with Aglory‘s past releases would expect, “Mort” was out on October 28 and (what a surprise-not) just in time for Halloween. Four original tracks, all dealing with the theme of mortality and death, “Mort” was released through Kannibalen Records. Maybe not what you’d normally expect by the Canadian label which usually deals with less dark themes, although their roster isn’t exactly unwelcoming towards the heavier and darker side of things either and how could it be when it hosts artists like Lektrique, Black Tiger Sex Machine and Haezer to mention a few? A must check release for anyone into the dark Electronica and Techno, as is usually the case with Aglory so press play and enjoy!

Noisia

As some of you might already know Noisia have a new album titled “Outer Edges” coming out in September and of course all fans of heavy bass music, regardless what their favorite sub-genre is, should be looking forward to this one with much excitement. What you might not be aware of yet though is that the music video for the track “Collider” was out today and the trio is bringing out the heavy guns with it. A great track which trancends genres so don’t expect us to even try sticking a label to it accompanied by a nice video and for those who enjoy a mind twisting element of weirdness in their videos you’ll be getting some of that too with “Collider”. Which of course is nothing new for Noisia (we might even say it’s not weird enough comparing to some of their past videos). Nothing else to be added here really as the music of Noisia speaks for itself, so just enjoy “Collider” and stay tuned for the album. Continue reading »

It might have been a while since we heard any new music by M.A.D.E.S but finally the French artist is back with a new EP titled “Return” and well, not only it’s very suitably titled but also a fine comeback for him. Including 3 originals as well as remixes by Irving Force, Hijack Da Bass and Alminia “Return” was out on JST Records on June 20th. Moving somewhere between Electro House, Complextro and Synthwave/Outrun, the 3 originals strike the right balance between heavy basslines and melodic parts (more on the melancholic and dark side rather than on the EDM though) while each of the 3 remixes adds something new to the release. Irving Force‘s rocker definitely focuses more on the 80’s side of things and pushes the original to its limits (just like an 80’s “action packed” movie would), Hijack Da Bass delivers an Electro House hard hitter you’d expect from him while finally the newcomer Alminia adds some flavor and closes the release in afunkier and lighter tone. Muzzy‘s “F Minor Factory” almost slipped unnoticed through our radars somehow but our bass detection systems finally detected it and we’re quite happy they did. Released on Monstercat about a month ago, the UK artist’s new EP comes with 4 original tracks moving somewhere between Electronica, Dubstep and Drum & Bass. A well thought of, nicely flowing release combining Drum & Bass rhythms with more melodic parts, EDM-ish hooks and even powerfull guitar fueled ragers, “F Minor Factory” can get you off your ass and right into the pit/dancefloor while at the same time it can suck you in with its more atmospheric parts. Definitely a fun to listen to and well produced EP with the highlight being “Play”, which minus some vocal parts would make an ultimate banger (but it still rocks anyway). Continue reading »
