Second post of the day and despite having to change my post right at the last minute due to the tracks of the new release i had planned to post magically disappearing (shame on those responsible), i have a replacement ready that maybe isn’t from a “big” name but certainly is of equal quality as Rubber Spanner‘s 3rd EP “Drop Like Flies” dropped a couple of days ago on Jet Set Trash and made some serious noise as well! Featuring 5 originals that range from Punkstep to melodic Electro House and Metalectro to Techno, the London (UK) based producer really stepped up with this new EP and took things to the next level. The self titled “Drop Like Flies” might as well be the Electro-Step cousin of bands like Agnostic Front or Dropkick Murphys and is a track full of style and attitude but so are the rest of the tracks on the EP. Clever lyrics, guitars, melodies that will stick with you and groove define the 5 originals and as if that’s not enough to make a killer EP, Heavygrinder, Laforcah, Gor FLsh and Soul Machine remixed the tracks and delivered some of their best work up to date too. Nothing else to add, if you aren’t yet convinced there is nothing i can say to change that, so here’s the preview and you better check it out!
Keeping things bagning for the now and following in the same spirit of the previous posts and here’s another preview of one more pretty nice sounding upcoming EP. Rubber Spanner is back with his 3rd EP on Jet Set Trash and this time the London (UK) based artist and Jet Set Trash label boss decided to mix things up by delivering some of those catchy and melodic electro house tracks he showcased in his last EP “Shit Happens” while at the same time returning to his metal and punk roots and picking up his guitar for the tracks “Drop LIke Flies” (the EP title track) and “Overdrive” (Trashed Again) which is an obvious title and musical reference to his “Get Trashed” track released a couple of years ago. Both great sounding vocal driven, guitar fueled tracks and something you might even describe as punkstep in the case of “Drop Like Flies”. Some pretty nice remixes too on the EP with Heavygrinder, Laforcah and Gor FLsh delivering some first class bangers as well as Soul Machine who contributed a techno-electro-rock rework of the track “Satanic Synths From Outer Space”, a groovy techno orginal and closing track of the EP. Overall geat variety and number of tracks (9 in total) and a release that is banging, melodic and fresh! Check out the teaser and stay tuned for the EP, out tomorrow!
Time to leave the new releases behind for a while and here’s the first freebie of today’s blogging and a really nice original dubstep track by the extremely talented and promsing youngster from Boston (USA) that goes by the name Imagin8. A name you might have already seen here before as part of the official remixers of the Zardonic “Restless Remixes” EP (for which we ran a rmix contest the last month) coming soon on Jet Set Trash. Speaking of which, not only Imagin8 delivered a killer remix for that upcoming EP but he also has an upcoming EP of his own coming out soon as well. More on that when the time comes though, for now back to the mater at hand and current freebie by Imagin8 titled “Wizard Vs Genie”. The track was published about a month ago to announce the union of Imagin8 and Jet Set Trash and judging from this track as well as from anything else i’ve heard so far by this prodigy, things are looking great for him! Check out this one, grab it and stay tuned for more!
So it’s been coming for a while and it turned out a pretty hard decision to pick who of Determinators, Esparta and Tomorrow We Fall will be the final winner who will get his remix released on Zardonic‘s “Restless Remixes” EP coming out on Jet Set Trash late September and really all 3 remixes deserved to on the official release alongside thenew version of the track by Zardonic plus remixes by Lock N Bounce, Hijack Da Bass, Gör FLsh and Imagin8. As we made the rules of the contest ourselves though we are the first ones to uphold them and keep our word so we had to pick 1 winner out of the 3 finalists. So, without further adiue, here’s the 1st winner and he is Tomorrow We Fall! Congratulations to Tomorrow We Fall as well as Determinators and Esparta too for giving us such a pleasant headache with picking 1 winner and will get their remixes released on the “Restless Free Remixes” EP alongside the drum cover of the track by Namtar! So check all 3 once again, thank you for participating in the contest and for your patience announcing the final winner and stay tuned for the release!
Here’s another freebie, the last for today, so lets make sure its a good one, not in terms of quantity but quality. Dizkodeath is an artist that has always been one of Metalectro’s favorites and finally his deadly disco machine seems to be roaring and running on all cylinders, since very recently he had his debut single “Revolver” released on Jet Set Trash and he already has his LP “Raw” coming out on the UK based label this Autumn. So, between the single and upcoming LP, the producer from Gerrmany didn’t forget to drop this great collaboration original track with Circe as a freebie too, to celebrate getting his first release out and all the hard work he put on his LP finally starting to pay off. So, for those of you who haven’t checked out “Starfucker”, here it is so make sure to check it and grab it out for some Dizkodeath & Circe awesomeness!
