Trying to catch up with all the music I missed during the last months that the blog was in hibernation is a time consuming task, let me tell you. Not to complain though since I am a music junkie anyway so sitting and listening to (new) music isn’t all that bad, especially when it’s good music (or the kind of music i like to be more precise).

And while I’m going to be taking it slower and only post about releases which have that something special worth talking about, the music that does actually make it on here should be “food for the soul” – only more groovy, powerful and generally speaking awesome in one way or the other. And Daniel Deluxe‘s “Corruptor” LP just happens to tick all of those boxes. Continue reading »

It’s no big secret, at least to those who have been following the more “undergound” Electronic music scene(s), that the rise of the super-commercialised “EDM” machine the last few years has lead into a “stalemate” kind of situation for many fans and artists alike. On one hand artists who are striving to make a living doing the thing they love understandably might want to follow trends and tendencies, while on the other hand the majority of fans (hopefully not those reading this blog though) are simply “consuming” what’s been given to them, therefore creating a high demand for rapid fire productions with more often than not the focus shifting to the quantity of music rather than the quality (and I don’t mean the production quality/standards). Having some fresh blood coming your way today with Swedish artist Irving Force, who just had a new EP titled “The Violence Supressor” out a few days ago. A very recent find and one of those artists that really caught our ear, Irving Force‘s music is following the 80’s dark and heavy synthwave path. Sometimes more 80’s influnced Electronica, sometimes more rock/metal and other times straight heavy sounding Electro, his new EP includes 4 originals that should take you on a crazy, noisy and fun ride through neon-retro-futuristic soundscapes. Definitely a nice combination of elements and ideas that left us with a very nice buzzing in our ears, we will definitely be looking forward to hearing more by Irving Force. How about you? Any day Christine, one of our favorite French electronic music artists, come up with new music is a good day here on Metalectro so as you can imagine we’re quite happy to have started our week with a new EP by the Frenchmen. “Ecstatic Sole” is Christine‘s sixth EP and if you’re not familiar with their music by now, well let’s just say you have some essential listening to do. Coming with four new original tracks, this is some trademark Christine stuff and sounding as good if not even better than ever. A mix of French Touch and 80’s synth/horrorwave, “Ecstatic Sole” EP is overall as hard, dark and groovy as you would expect, hope and want a Christine release to be. What else could we ask for?
