A release that many will be definitely be looking forward to is Nero‘s “The Thrill” and of course when a name of the size and statue of Nero has a new or upcoming release, the expectations, anticipation and hype around it make it really hard to miss, especially when the release comes with a remix by Porter Robinson too which took over most electronic music blogs immediately after going live. Now the full release has been made available publicly for streaming and while most blogs and music sites were ecstatic with Porter Robinson‘s remix of “The Thrill” which undoubtedly is a remix of both quality, musical intelligence and creativity, it was another remix that alongside the orignal mix really stood out for us from Nero‘s upcoming EP. Canadian artist Rene La Vice literally transformed the original into a beautiful, heavier and darker Drum N Bass hymn which is worth all the hype and love it will possibly receive. Definitely one to check out but here’s the full release for you listening pleasure. Continue reading »

Sticking to some more super energised and badass Drum N Bass sounds, this time coming from Russia based artist Davip who has never been featured here before (so lets give him a warm or even hot as hell welcome) and Uplink Audio. “Eliminator” EP was out a week ago including four original tracks, with the opening and EP same titled track being a collaboration with label boss Downlink and setting the tone for what’s to follow in the three remaining EP tracks perfectly well with its fat moving bassline and overall great feel and production. Definitely an EP to check out if you’re into this sort of sound and one we enjoyed quite a bit here on Metalectro so if you trust our eardrums do check it out by all means. Continue reading »

Hell-o to all bassheads and we’re back bringing you some dark, heavy, nasty and lovely bass – just the way we love it here on Metalectro and what better way to get things started than a preview of the new Misanthrop (aka Neosignal) EP “I Need More”? The EP will be out on Blackout Music NL (Black Sun Empire‘s imprint) on April 19th. Fortunatelly for all of us a couple of full tracks from it have already been made publicly available for streaming on the artist and label Soundcloud pages and it’s fair to say that both sound killer and definitely leave us wanting and needing more. So if you’re looking for some badass and pretty damn great Drum N Bass/Neuro look no further, make sure to check out this EP preview and two tracks from Misanthrop‘s “I Need More” EP and mark April 19th on your calendars for the release! Going on with some nice Drum N Bass coming from Phace with the German producer’s new LP, released on Neosignal Recordings a bit over a couple of weeks ago. 14 original tracks moving to the Drum N Bass direction and if you’re fans of the particular sound and style then you’re definitely going to enjoy this one. Some darker, some weirder and some more straight forward, all tracks stay loyal pretty much to the heavier Drum N Bass we’ve come to know and like by Phace and even though at parts we felt the album could have done with a couple of tracks that would add a bit more diversity and variety by straying a bit off of the Drum N Bass sound, we have to say that “Shape The Random” is an album we enjoyed quite a bit and we hope you will too. Here’s a fairly long and pretty extensive preview of the LP, check it out! Continue reading »

Going on with one more new release that those of you following artist social media closely must have no doubt been looking forward to since the first teasers and previews, we know we have at least! Far Too Loud‘s “Cocktails Of Awesome” EP is out on No Tomorrow Recordings since a week ago including 3 remixes of some Far Too Loud favorites by Michael White, Trumpdisco and 501 as well as a VIP mix of “Trailmixing” and boy (or girl – depending on your gender) aren’t these awesome indeed!? Starting with a huge remix by the lesser known but not entirely new to our ears Michael White who literally dropped a massive Electro House bomb full of energy with his remix of “Drop The Bomb”, this release sets high standards from the opening second and keeps them high right to the very last. Trumpdisco follows second with a more raw and bass heavy remix of “Light Sticks” and if you ever wondered what the result of Far Too Loud and Trumpdisco working together could sound like, here’s your answer right here. Last but not least come 501‘s Trap/Dubstep hybrid remix of “Doomsday Machine” to spice things up and add some variety to the release and of course the VIP mix of “Trailmixing” by Far Too Loud himself which comes to wrap up what is a killer release with lots of power and some high octane Drum N Bass.
