artworks-000077565718-1d1n24-cropNext new release that is certainly one many of you hard Electro-freaks were most likely looking forward to as well is the Hypomaniacs new EP, out a week on Freakz Me Out. “Brazen” contains 2 new originals by the South African duo who do their thing, remaining loyal to their hard-trashy-distorted Electro sound and vocally dominated tracks, as one would expect since it’s been the trademark of Hypomaniacs since the beginning. Personally and being a fan and follower of Hypomaniacs since day 1, i have to admit not being as impressed with “Brazen”, not because it isn’t a good release but because it feels as if the duo has stopped developing and evolving musically. The aggressive character and bad-ass trademark vocals of Stacey Hypomaniacs in tracks like “Breach” or “Systematic” are being slowly but steadily giving room to melodic vocals and even though the production and tracks are still hard and powerful in their majority they feel as if they are lacking the character or inspiration the previous Hypomaniacs works had. By all means this is a good release and what all fans of the duo would expect by them so you should definitely check it out, even though it feels like there is way more talent and potential to be unlocked with this duo, especially if they want to keep impressing and exciting their fans as they used to do in the past.

Hell-o all and a great week to all! Monday is upon again and so we are back in bass duty so get your seatbelts fastened and get ready for take off as we have plenty of awesomeness coming once again today, with a few new basstastic sounds and releases. As for our opening post for today we have a new release that undoubtedly was highly anticipated from hard electro fans and electro punks out there, as is usually the case with any new Cyberpunkers release. The “Shock” Remixes EP that was announced a while ago was finally released on Freakz Me Out with an impressive number and line up of remixes. 8 in total by some more well known artists and some lesser known ones. Skylab, Bad Catholics, PRO7 & Phil SK, Alvino, Hypomaniacs, Belzebass, Haezer and N4C are the 8 remixers who in addition to a couple of video edits of “Shock” and “Blow” complete the line up of this remixes EP. The variety isn’t missing from the release as the range of styles goes from Electro Punk to Dubstep and even Big Room even though none of the remixes convinced us, especially considering the names involved and expectations one would have from a Cyberpunkers remixes EP. PRO7 & Phil SK, Hypomaniacs and Belzebass are the 3 remixers who struggle to save a very promising and anticipated release which has totally failed to deliver the energy, quality or results and ovreall feels a bit overloaded with unneccessary remixes that aren’t to the standard one would expect. Still, don’t let our disappointment and not met high expectations put you off by any means and check the tracks out for yourselves.

Here i have another new release for you guys which is out since last week on Freakz Me Out! It´s the latest assault by South Africa´s most destructive electro duo Hypomaniacs, who just came up in time with this EP going by the name “Maniac Nation” to chaperon their current tour in Europe! Featuring three original tracks and delivering nothing but military-staccato beaten bass brutality fueled with sheer vocal anger, Hypomaniacs stay absolutely true to the sound they stand for and i can´t wait to see them playing live myself! In case you don´t want to miss them either have a look at the tour dates on their Facebook page, before you do though make sure to check the teaser of “Maniac Nation” out by all means!!!

Hypomaniacs – Breach

Another blogging day is about to end, Zak already introduced you yesterday to this week´s special guest Zardonic, so i´ll close the day of course with another pick of his favourite bangers and mind-blowers! And today it´s pretty much of a home match for us since his second track choice is no less than Hypomaniacs and their track “Breach” that has been released on Metalectro Vol.02Danger Zone“!!! I guess i can righteously speak for all Metalectro members when saying that we all agree on Zardonic´s choice and reasons as well for picking this one, read below what he said himself, play it loud and have a banging evening ya all!!!

This is perhaps my favourite electro track of all time. It´s how Metalectro should
be made. Strong and noisy as fuck. Doesn´t leave my sets. And it´s an official
Metalectro brand :D

Leaving the fresh blood behind and going on with a duo that not only has been featured here many times but also never fail to impress! If any of you aren’t familiar with Hypomaniacs you have no excuse and should be checking this blog more often as the South Africans have been making the world of hard electro dizzy with their powerful tracks and unique vocals for the last couple of years. With some of the most creative and awesome remixes you’ll ever hear, about a gazillion freebies, their massive debut EP “Systematic” plus 2 killer tracks on Metalectro Vol.02 and 03 this duo is responsible for plenty of dancefloor violence and now came up with a VIP version of their collab track with Against Time & Kaos “Jealousy” which is given as a freebie! And yeah, as the title suggests it’s nasty! Not out of jealousy but out of good habit and bad intentions! Check it out, grab it and blast it loud!
