Yesterday we saw the return of Italian duo Cyberpunkers with their new Free EP “Sick Tracks” and today we continue in a similar way, with a new release and the return of another loved and loud Italian duo, Laforcah. The two Electro Punksters from the greater Milan area just had their 5th EP released on Jet Set Trash a couple of days ago and if any of you don’t know yet what that means please take a moment and listen as Electro doesn’t come any louder and dirtier than this. 5 new originals, with one of them being available as a free download too, which bring together all those Laforcah characteristic elements and sounds we’ve heard in the duo’s previous 4 releases. But Laforcah didn’t stick only to what we’ve been used to hear from them and decided to explore new territories too with “Dusk”, a heavy and dark Electronica track that definitely left our eardrums happily buzzing. If there’s one thing these guys have proven with their releases so far is that they aren’t prepared to go light and “Dirty” EP comes to confirm that once again. Continue reading »

Italian hard Electro duo Cyberpunkers are back with a new (Free) EP and well, this time they have brought some of the good ol’ cyberpunker sound with them. The duo had been quite keen on trying out different ways of evolving their sound in recent releases, most of them clever too, something that to be honest never quite worked as good as many of their fans would have wanted and hoped for. This time though Cyberpunkers appear refreshed, inspired and in a sense opening up again to their earlier period Electro Punk/Indie Dance/Hard Electro influences and urges and well, it was about time too if you ask us. The duo has also tried some fresh ideas too, with Cyberpunkers trying their masks in some Electronica with “The Lonely Journey”, a very enjoyable track and a direction/sound that seems to suit the duo quite nicely. Here’s “Sick Tracks” EP, check it out and don’t forget to grab your free copy.

Hell-o all and a great week to all! Monday is upon again and so we are back in bass duty so get your seatbelts fastened and get ready for take off as we have plenty of awesomeness coming once again today, with a few new basstastic sounds and releases. As for our opening post for today we have a new release that undoubtedly was highly anticipated from hard electro fans and electro punks out there, as is usually the case with any new Cyberpunkers release. The “Shock” Remixes EP that was announced a while ago was finally released on Freakz Me Out with an impressive number and line up of remixes. 8 in total by some more well known artists and some lesser known ones. Skylab, Bad Catholics, PRO7 & Phil SK, Alvino, Hypomaniacs, Belzebass, Haezer and N4C are the 8 remixers who in addition to a couple of video edits of “Shock” and “Blow” complete the line up of this remixes EP. The variety isn’t missing from the release as the range of styles goes from Electro Punk to Dubstep and even Big Room even though none of the remixes convinced us, especially considering the names involved and expectations one would have from a Cyberpunkers remixes EP. PRO7 & Phil SK, Hypomaniacs and Belzebass are the 3 remixers who struggle to save a very promising and anticipated release which has totally failed to deliver the energy, quality or results and ovreall feels a bit overloaded with unneccessary remixes that aren’t to the standard one would expect. Still, don’t let our disappointment and not met high expectations put you off by any means and check the tracks out for yourselves.

Staying on the previews for the time being and here’s one of an upcoming release and it would be fair to say that this is one really highly aniticipated release too, as is always the case with Cyberpunkers anyway. The Italian duo is back with a new EP on Freakz Me Out and “Shock” sounds like a release that might shock quite a few people actually since it’s one of Cyberpunkers hardest tracks and EPs, out of the recent ones at least. 3 originals tracks on the EP, all sounding pretty great judging by this pretty long preview and while the duo hasn’t obviously forgotten how to go hard on the bass and come up with bangers, they still haven’t lost their great talent and touch for great melodies and (good old times) Daft Punk-ish parts. Certainly an EP to look forward to so stay tuned the release and in the meanwhile check out the preview!

So before i introduce to you this week’s special guest on Metalectro with his first choice of track he wanted you to check out, i have one more of my own choices to post and so, here comes my “remix of the day” and one more freebie! As for who gets today’s ROTD title, it’s the French duo The Dirty Squirrels for their remix on Tristan Garner‘s “Molotov”! A great remix, which despite staying pretty close to the original is really giving it a nice extra boost. Well, not that the original wasn’t boosted enough and a pretty damn nice electro punk track that brings to mind The Bloody Beetroots or Cyberpunkers but regardless i think i would pick this remix over the original for its more “in your face” sound and electro punk attitude. So, here it is, check it, grab it and don’t go anywhere, special guest track pick #1 coming next!
