Time for a freebie, first of the day and it’s an older track by a name that i think is being here for the first time, despite being a pretty well known name. So, more fresh blood coming and say “hell-o” to Invader! and his track “Malevolent”. The track is a freebie through Invader!‘s facebook page for those of you who might have missed it when it was uploaded about half a year ago. A pretty banging and dirty, or maybe even filthy, dubstep/drum & bass track that stands out for it’s pretty nice sound design and it’s heavy, not as polished and clean drumstep sound that we hear from so many artists recently. Of course one has to take into consideration that the track was produced a few months back and it could have sounded different if it was produced today but that’s not important. What’s important is that it’s a damn nice and banging freebie, so check it out and grab it!

I’ll go about blogging a bit backwards i guess in terms of my usual habits and as i already started the day with Drop Goblin‘s choice first (which i would have usually left for last) i will continue with a video now and some fresh blood. Ducked Ape are from The Hague, Netherlands, and they released their single “Street Down The Walking” only a few days ago on System Recordings. The single features the original mix, a dub version and the radio edit of “Street Down The Walking”, the latter being the same as the video and the one i have picked to post here today. A really nice track, definitely not on the dirty bager side but a feelgood and cool groovy, well prodiced and catchy (still not cheesy though) electro track. I personally really enjoyed both track and video and so i thought i would post here and hopefully you will enjoy both track and video too as much as i did! So, what are you waiting for? Hit play and check this out!

Going on with some fresh blood and the first freebie of the day, coming all the way from Brasil and proving once again that Electro House is still damn big in the country of Samba and Ronaldo (my football knowledge is a bit outdated as you can see)! “Empathy” is a great original Electro House / Complextro track with great production, huge sound, nice melodies and groove and pretty much all those elements one can ask for in such a track. Definitely one that all fans of the sound will appreciate and like i guess and Blackbird Sound definitely deserve to be heard since they obviously have both the talent and skills to come up with big tracks! So, welcome them on Metalectro, check this great freebie out, grab it and lets all hope that more great originals like this will follow soon by Blackbird Sound!

Here’s another freebie and some fresh blood, admittedly very tasty and very fresh too, and from talking about the hard electro sound of the past in the previous post, let’s talk a bit about the future, or actually the phuture. Phuture Doom is OWSLA‘s new surprise and heavy weapon and some of you might be familiar with the name from the remix of Birdy Nam Nam‘s “Defiant Order”, which i personally never was a big fan of to be honest. So it was to my great and in fact very pleasant surprise to listen to Phuture Doom‘s latest and first original track “Burn The Knowledge”, which frankly is as Metalectro as it gets. Great production, black metal influences, filthy bass and a track that has a place in the Metalectro pantheon alongside names like Richie Beretta, Rocket, Gor FLsh, ASCII Demon, Zardonic, Heavygrinder, Drivepilot, Andy’s iLL (to mention a few) and all those who in the recent years have come up with tracks that have so succesfully been bringing the metal and electro worlds together! Check this out, the video too, and stay tuned for the release of “Nightfall” EP, out on July 23rd! We’ll definitely be looking forward to it with great curiosity and expectations!

Staying heavy, loud and nasty with my 2nd post, not that this comes as a big surprise anywway i guess since you’re on Metalectro, and i have some fresh blood coming on as this is only the first time to feature a track by Bratkilla here. Dubstep, Deathstep, Dubhell (as we like to call it) pick the name of your poison but Bratkilla‘s “Zartina” certainly fits the description. Taken from the “Full Force” EP, released back in April on Bad Chemistry Recordings and featuring 1 more original track, “Zartina” is a dark, heavy and agressive anthem. Forget about melodic dubstep and cheesy vocal hooks, this is eargrinding thrash bass, topped with growls and dark atmosphere. So, for those of you not aware of the Swedish producer and his work, i think this should be a very fine introduction to his dark twisted dubstep sound. Press play and say “hell-o” to Bratkilla!
