For those of you keeping an eye on our YouTube channel you will probably know of (and if not you should) the Designer Drugs latest release, which is no other than the Remixes LP for “The Drugs Are In Control”. The Remixes LP was released on Sex Cult in 2 parts, part one being a remix EP featuring 9 remixes of the track by the likes of F.O.O.L, Robopunx, Kyro, Q.G., LeathRface, Rob De Large, DJ Antention and more. The 2nd part, came a week ago and as if the hard Electro (and not only) parade of names on part 1 wasn’t enough, Mustard Pimp, Tom Deluxx, Corvad and more artists came to be added among the already impressive line up of remixers. Definitely lots of good remixes to be checked out of the 15 altogether features on both parts with some of course being more to our liking than the rest. So, here’s our selection of “drugs” and we strongly suggest you try them all out!

This week has been great in terms of new releases and all fans of Designer Drugs, especially those who enjoyed their latest album “The Drugs Are In Control”, will be happy to know that a remix album of “The Drugs Are In Control” is now out, including altogether 9 remixes of the track by F.O.O.L, Q.G, Robopunx, Kyro, DJ Antention, Rob De Large, Leatherface, Ian Jury and His Shadow. And it’s an album all hard electro addicts (like us) will have a problem resisting after hitting play on the openning remix by F.O.O.L. So we thought the least we could do is select some of our favorite remixes from “The Drugs Are In Control” Remix album and hopefully bring them in your attention so check them out below and lose control!

If you are a fan of heavy trashy bass and raw electro then you are the right place the right time as this selection of tracks taken from the Maehtrasher 050 “Wurst Case Scenario” Compilation released on Mähtrasher Records will fill your ears with the nasty sounds you love and will leave you with a very plesant eardrum buzz. For those who missed it, the release features altogether 56 tracks, 18 exclusives and 38 tracks that serve as the best of Mähtrasher Records. Of course, not all tracks are in the trashy heavy electro style since there is quite a bit of techno on the release but we have picked 3 of our favorite electro weapons of bass destruction, so say hell-o to aUtOdiDakT, Beef Theatre and Dj Antention and play them loud!

Time to wrap things up for today, although we might have an extra surprise post coming up later – we won’t be saying what so you will have to stay tuned for that. In the meanwhile it’s time to get nasty and turn up the bass, the raw thrash bass that Monophonique have been doing such a great job delivering over the years they have been producing that is. Dark, heavy and damn great are the words that come to mind when listening of the Monophonique remix on Bombastards track “Paranoia”. Taken from Bombastards recent release “Back To Roots” EP that was out on BADD Records featuring 2 originals plus 3 further remixes by DJ Antention, Hantise and FetOo, this is a pretty nice remix and one of the traks to stand out from the release, delivering a nice dark groove and therefore i decided to give today’s “remix of hte day” title! Time to jump into filthy trash mode and leave anything melodic behind as things are about to get messy with one of the masters of the kind, DJ Antention. His new EP is due for release soon-ish, an exact release date hasn’t been yet announced but it will be out sometime this or next month anyway, on Freakz Me Out of course. Featuring 7 originals this is classic DJ Antention and judging by the preview should be a nice EP too. Trashy, dark and noisy electro with some techno influences and (as expected) full of nasty bass and insane enough to make it an EP most fans of the raw thrash bass will enjoy. More on this when and if we get to listen to longer previews or the full legth tracks but check out the teaser and get a taste of what’s coming.
