I´ll keep the bass level on top for the time being and continue with another brand new release which is out as from today on Dim Mak Records, even though this set of GTRONIC´s latest EP named “Strobo” has already been uploaded a few days ago. The first and same-titled track featured on it conjured a big, fat smile on my face while hearing it for the first time being a perfect combination of the heavy bass sound GTRONIC stands for and uplifting tech-/trancelike melodies imo, and again i have to underline that i definitely like the new and obviously more melodic style of GTRONIC a lot! The second track named “The Parade” unfortunately didn´t pull the same rabbit out of the hat again, still a good track by all means, it just couldn´t sustain the direct comparison to the name-giver, lacking a bit of atmosphere and energy if asking me. Pick your favourite poison yourself though and play them loud!!!

Time for a freebie as we couldn’t have a complete comeback without some of those and a freebie that we just missed before we took our summer break was Andy’s iLL “Disco Bullets”. The EP was initially planned to be released on Dim Mak and features 1 original plus remixes by Trumpdisco and Toriku but for reasons that we can only suspect but not know and so won’t talk about in public it somehow ended up as a free download. Not that most of you or we mind that really even though it can’t be the most pleasant development for the artists involved in a release when something like this happens. In any case and although to be honest both Andy’s iLL and Trumpdisco have come up with better tracks in the past this is definetely a pretty nice EP that’s fun to listen to, has 1 quality original and 1 great remix and is certainly worth checking out and grabbing!

Going on with another new release  and today´s dose of fresh blood going by the name Army Of The Universe! I remember following these Los Angeles/USA based guys for quite a while already, but somehow lost track a bit until their latest single named “PNKRZ!” got released on Dim Mak around two weeks ago. Five different versions of the same-titled track are featured on it, only two of them included in this set though, still i pretty enjoyed it as i liked its crossover style at once. The first and original version is a very likable  mix of  different electro genres and post-rock, spiced with vocals that convey perfectly the punk feeling being suggested by its title. The second and live version is also damn cool imo, way harder, rocking and more guitar fueled, even though the simpler track of both. Either way, i think both are great and refreshingly different sounding tunes, so get yourself an impression too and check them out right now!!!

Going on with a track i luckily had the opportunity to hear live performed by GTRONIC just a few days ago and that has been released on Dim Mak this Tuesday on the “Morpheus & Dufus” EP, featuring three originals and five remixes by Moonbootica, Dirty Disco Youth, Ostblockschlampen, The Sneekers and Rusty Warriors! Zak posted the teaser a few days ago already, but since the full original tracks are available meanwhile and i like especially the track “Morpheus” a lot i decided to “re”post just this one and grant it the attention it deserves imo! As heavy-bass-trashy as you´re used to when it´s about GTRONIC, combined with some nice ravey melodies and whether you heard the full track already or not – check it out (again)!!!

Here’s another new EP preview coming and i expect this one must have been quite an anticipated one too. Gtronic is back with a 3 original track EP release on Dim Mak and this time he isn’t alone, as he also has 5 remixers beside him, creating his very own small bass army. On remixing duties we find Moonbootica, Dirty Disco Youth, The Sneekers, Ostblockschlampen and Rusty Warriors. As you can imagine plenty of heavy bass to make you ears buzz (in a good way) as pretty much all remixers have done a nice job remixing the tracks “Morpheus” and “Dufus”, although i would personally pick “Moticon” if asked to pick a favorite. Definitely an EP to check out, although i’ll dare say i personally expected more from this one.
