Hell-o and we’re back for some more Sunday reading, just to close what we hope was a great weekend in an eve greater way! We are not sure if it would make sense to say that we have a “heavy” and “full of  bass”  interview coming up today but we managed to get hold of a bass heavyweight anyway who really needs no introductions, unless you have just ended up on the wrong blog somehow – in which case prepare to be blown away. For the regular ones though, here comes “Sergrant Bass” who is no other than the one and only GTRONIC. Do we have your full attention yet? Good, now read on…

Time for a preview of a new release by a pretty big name who the last couple of years delivered plenty of bangers and is only fair to say that their releases are always highly anticipated. South Cental‘s new EP “Run Hide Survive” was out on Dim Mak yesterday and i was pretty excited to see this preview going online. A short preview that doesn’t really allow for any safe conclusions besides the top sounding production which was expected anyway though. Other than that i have to admit being a bit disappointed so far from this preview as the duo seem to have lost banger attitude they had on releases such as “Hollywood” EP and are goign for a much more chart topping sound on this one. “Invasion” sounds like the track that could stand out and be a Metalectro favorite out of this EP but we better hear to the full tracks (or longer previews at least) first and before we can give our verdict about “Run Hide Survive”. In the meanwhile have a listen to the preview and see what you think for yourselves.

I´ll keep the freebies coming and continue with my pick for today´s “remix of the day”, with special pleasure granted to an artist that joined quite freshly to our beloved Metalectro family – Carpenter Brut! This remix being originally by Scanners and named “Control” has been taken from the “Love Is Symmetry Remix” EP that has been released on Dim Mak a week ago, but only two of the altogether eight remixes featured on it are for free. This one belongs to the freebies though, which is actually good for us, still i don´t get it why as i´d have done it the other way round judging by Metalectro standards. For those of you who aren´t familiar with Carpenter Brut yet (shame on you, better catch up right now 😉 ); like all his tracks this one also stands out due to its amazing, (partly dark) 80s-synth-sounds combined with rock guitars in Carpenter Brut´s very own and remarkable style but whether you know the Frenchman already or not, checking this one out is strongly recommended so give it a listen and get this goodie by all means!!!

Hell-o all and our apologies for what turned out a very silent week in terms of blogging on our behalf, as one half of Metalectro (lady Hellectro) has been striken down by illness and has to stay off bass duty, while the other half (myself) was too busy with trying to improve a few technical things on the site that will help make everything run smoother and better hopefully. In any case, we are back today to close the week in a loud fashion and get the weekend party on and for starters we have a bit of a special on the menu. Most of you should be aware of the release of South Central‘s “Hollywood” Remixes EP by now, out on Dim Mak a couple of weeks ago featuring remixes by Angger Dimas, Bar9, Chris Avantgarde, Haezer and Sawgood. What you might not be aware though is that there were 3 more remixes by The Dirty Papy, TAI and a 2nd remix by Sawgood that never made it on the actual release. So they are all given as freebies and we thought of putting all 8 (official and free) full length remixes in one big full of bass post would be a nice opening post for this Friday! What do you think?

Going on with a preview next of what has been a pretty highly anticipated EP, remixes EP to be precise, since the initial release of South Central‘s “Hollywood” was no doubt one of the most banging releases of the year imo with bangers such as “Armaggedon” and “Jawdrop” so the expectations had to be pretty high for the remixes EP too. It’s been about 10 months since the release of “Hollywood” and now finally we have a first taste and preview of the remixes EP, which will be out tomorrow (on Dim Mak of course) featuring 5 remixes by Angger Dimas, Bar9, Haezer , Chris Avantgarde and Sawgood! Some heavy hitters no doubt on the remixer line up and hopefully the full length tracks will be equally heavy hitting as the reputation that preceeds these artists. Judging from this preview/teaser at least the first samples are encouraging, to say the least, and tomorrow is already shaping up to be a great day in terms of new music! Just hit play below and whet your appetite with this teaser!
