Here come Pts.2 + 3 of the Metalectro summer retrospective and i’ll try to post them both at once as a nice big post and get this out of the way so we can go back to ur regular post format by Monday… So let’s see, this is going to be a challenge no doubt as there more than a few thins that need to go in here with Summer’s Top 10 Freebies and the Metalectro best 5 Interviews of the summer.

And when all this is done, i have Metalectro MixTape vol.09 “Here’s Our Noize” waiting to hit your eardrums violently and make you bang your heads! I hope to post this today as well so i can leave you enjoy it through out the weekend but firs tthings first.

For those of you who have been following the blog these last three summer months, or even earlier, you know i posted quite a few freebies on here… Some were full EP’s and some others were sigle tracks, by some bigger namesand by some new up & coming producers. Most of them were really great though and here come Metalectro’s Top 10, so make some spave in your mp3 folder!!!

+++ Summer’s Top 10 Freebies (Metalectro’s best 10)+++

F.O.O.L “Fortune” [June 03]

It was early summer, the first few days of June actually that the first huge summer freebie appeared on soundcloud and it was an original track by F.O.O.L and what a track as well! “Fortune” was another really awesome track by the so called “production gods of Sweden” and it beared all the characteristics you expect to hear in a F.O.O.L track their trademark sound. If you like F.O.O.L then you would have to love “Fortune” as well and it was as simple as that. And since there aren’t many reading this post, if any at all, that don’t like F.O.O.L i bet, here it is again as one of the greatest tracks we heard this summer and certainly as one of the best free downloads that we saved on our hard drives! Here’s is the link again, if by accident you somehow haven’t downloaded this one yet, accidents do happen, i advise you to keep it a secret and just download this one now…

Figure – The Monsters Revenge

Figure’s “The Monsters Revenge” came later on that month and i remeber being some hectic days for the Metalectro blog around that period with some sagety and spambot issues and warnings from Google. All that was dealt with tough in time and we came back online with this very track and freebie! It did sound appropriate given the circumstances and well even if the circumstances have changed now, it still does sound approappriate and great! Figure has been known for his monstrous track titles and killer dubstep tracks and sound for a while now and i am known not to be the biggest dubstep fan around but this is certainly a track i do like and actually one of the few exceptions, as is Figure in general! A great track and a freebie that must be in your mp3s folder no matter if you’re a dubstep fan, a monster movie fan or Dr. Frankenstein himself! Download here!!!

Eternal September vs. Pelussje – Coresplash EP [June 20 – Trashbags]

We were just entering the second of June when on Trashbags a video made it appearence, featuring Pelussje and Eternal September. The video was actually pretty good to watch and the soundtrack was the recent cover/rework of Pelussje‘s “Frogplash” by Eternal September. This version of the track was retitled to “Coresplash”, for reasons obvious enough to those who’ve heard the track already. Soon after that came the “Coresplash” EP which was give as a free download on the Trashbags site. The EP included some pretty damn good remixes of “Coresplash” by a few names that  most of you know and like. Beef TheatreI Am Orkid, Kisbeat! & ChemicalKrftkds, Synthbros and WashMe BrushMe were the remixers with some of these remixes being really extraordinary, with the Beef Theatre one being my personal favorite and 1 of the 10 must have freebies of the summer! Download here!!!

Dada Life – Fight Club Is Closed (Beef Theatre Remix) [July 07]

Early July and the Beef boys (aka Beef Theatre) are once again on Metalectro, under the freebies category. This time it was their Dada Life “Fight Club Is Closed” remix that grabbed our attention and surely we returned the favor by grabbing it back. Beef Theatre were on fire and quite generous this summer offering 2 great freebies in a short period of time! Back then, i wrote that this wasn’t the best remix or track Beef Theatre had produced, not for any particular reason, i just didn’t like it as much as some of their other tracks. Allow me to change my mind about that statement, as this track sounds better every time i hear it and i’ve heard it a few times since then. I’ll remain faithfull in the other statement i made that day though, that these guys have set a very high standard so far and i expect only the best from them. Download here!!!

Sawgood – Not so Funny (AnthonyF Remix) [Early August]

This next freebie, was actually a remix for the Sawgood remix contest for the track “Not So Funny” and i have to say it was one of my favorites too! It was uploaded and enetered the competition in early August, i can’t remeber the exact date though. It tookme a while to post it on the blog though and i only managed to post it about 20 days later. A remix that i personally absolutely love, as i do most tracks by AnthonyF actually since i doscovered him. If the mix of electro beats and rock sounding distorted guitars with screaming vocals are down your alley, then this is a must for you and you will fall in love with AnthonyF‘s sound and style. So, here it si once again, certainly one of my favorite remixes and free downloads of this summer and you have to check this one out if you haven’t yet! Download here!!!

Black Is Not A Colour “Learning To Teach” EP [August 23 – Trashbags]

August was a quiet month, the first half of it at least… It makes sense of course, as temperatures were rising high and we all needed to cool it off a bit on a beach somewhere. Things started to pick up again near the end of the month though and we started seeing more of everything else we like seeing here. One of the best freebies we had all summer was the Black Is Not A Colour “Learning To Teach” EP. A free EP on Trashbags again and a great one too! The 2 originals “Dim Mak Can Suck This” and “Learning To Teach” really made it a must grab freebie but how could one not like the remixes by L.A.S.E.R, La Musique D’ Ordinateur and Nadisko? All of them tracks you just want in your mp3 collection! My pick as the best track out of this EP is “Dim Mak Can Suck This!” and here it is again! Download the EP here!!!

Krool Kickz & Partysmartie – So Not Berlin [August 24]

Around the same time that Black Is Not A Colour “Learning To Teach” EP appeared on Trashbags as on e of the greatest freebies we heard this summer, Krool Kickz were teaming up with Partysmartie and coming up hard banging track that was dedicated to the So Not Berlin agency and should cause many neck injuries every time it’s played. Fortunatelly for all of us, the track was also a freebie and the result of putting the well known neck-breakers Partysmartie together with the new but promising Krool Kickz, sounds something like… well. i already used the words banger, neckbreaking and hard so i guess you’ll just have to press play below and find out for yourselves. A great track and a freebie that all the headbangers who respect themselves should have in their possesion! Download here!!!

Andy’s iLL & MDMK – w.c.i.a.f.n. [August 24]

It might have been a bit earlier than the date mentioned above that this freebie appeared online but what really matters is that these last days of the summer the really great freebies kept coming one after another and from many different sources too! This particular one from Andy’s iLL was actually a collaboration between him and MDMK and boy wasn’t this a good one! As expected every time Andy’s iLL comes up with a track, excellent production and track and well, let’s just say that you can always count on him to expect those massive drops that will drop you dead! “w.c.i.a.f.n.” turned out to be a great success and the result of this collaboration was more than great. So, here is “w.c.i.a.f.n.” again and in my opinion it fully deserves being in the list with Metalectro’s  top 10 freebies of the summer! Download here!!!

Hack The System – Free Bonus Pack [August 30]

A couple of days ago, on the 30th of August to be exact, Jet Set Trash decided to give away as a free download a pack of 3 tracks, to celebrate the release of Hack The System‘s debut EP “End Game”. This pack included some a couple of Hack The System‘s older original tracks, which are both pretty awesome i have to say, as well as a previously unheard, or exclusively heard on a few mixtapes, remix of “End Game” by Kisbeat!&Chemical. The two roiginal trrack are “Collapse” and “False Flag” and if you haven’t checked them out i reccomed that you do. Unfortunately, in order to grab this free bonus pack you have to “Like” the Jet Set Trash Facebook Page, which isn’t that bad i suppose… You can also grab the Kisbeat!&Chemical remix of “End Game” separately though here and this is the track i will post here from this freebie pack!

The Zombie Kids – Blow Money Fast (ill Saint M “dub” Remix) [August 31]

This was the last freebie of the summer blogged on Metalectro and it was a reallyn ice way to close the summer season as well. The Zombie Kids original mix of “Blow Money Fast” as well as the first vocal version of the ill Saint M remix had already been around for a few months before this “dub” mix was made abailable as a free downlaod. This “dub” version of the remix ill Saint M did on “Blow Money Fast”, is my personal favorite between the two versions. The “Blow Money Fast” EP wasn’t going to be released on a label after all, so ill Saint M decided to give this remix as a freebie and even though i have to say it’s a shame this won’t get officially released, i guess we all like good freebies. So, ill Saint M‘s brutal house returns and it’s the last freebie on Metalectro’s top 10 summer freebie list. Download here!!!

So, there awere the best 10 freebies we saw, heard and downloaded this summer here on Metalectro, according to ouy very own ear drums and taste of course… I hope you all enjoyed them as well and grabbed a few of those for your own mp3 collection, Ipod playlist or mixtapes too!
