End Of A Season – Fuck The Summer, Here’s Our Noize (Pt.1)!!!

Hell-o to all and i wish you a happy Autumn, with many earbleeding and neckbreaking injuries!!! The summer is gone, in the calendar at least, and we are officially entering the season that i like to believe will bring many great bangers. That remains to be seen and heard but i certainly hope i’m right about this.

Today, i’ll take a break from the usual format, instead i have a special “end of a season” retrospective, putting together some of the top Metalectro posts. So, i have gathered all summer’s best 10 new releases, best 10 freebies and the best interviews, out of the ones blogged here of course. Please note that by “best” i mean my favorite ones and not the ones with the most views over these last 3 months.

Of course don’t expect me to re-post every interview, as this would make this post too long to read but i’ll post again a few tracks and the links to them… So, end of a season and begining of a new one and here’s what i say: Fuck The Summer, Here’s Our Noise!!!

+++Top 10 Summer Releases (Metalectro’s best 10)+++

Pelussje “Royal Rumble” EP [June 03 – Tunz Tunz Records]

Pelussje‘s EP “Royal Rumble” was the first release of this summer bloggd on Metalectro and in case you missed it, you have to check it out! A sign of things to come for the summer, which was still ahead of us back then but noone could know what would follow the next 3 months. A 3 track EP, all are being collaborations between Pelussje and other artists, a different one in each track. In the 1st track, “Cjjjj”, Pelussje rumble against a duo whose work is known and loved here, Kisbeat & Chemical! This is certainly my favorite track on the EP and the one i will re-post here as part of my summer retrospective. In the 2nd track, titled “Gorilla”, Pelussje teamed up with Gain On Top for a more “housy” result and last but not least they went up against 2Cage in the 3rd and final track, “Black belt”. Ladies & gentlemen the “Royal Rumble” has begun!!!

Drivepilot “Ruthless” EP [June 09 – Traction Records]

Almost a week after Pelussje‘s EP “Royal Rumble” EP, it was Drivepilot‘s turn to make us all bang our heads with the release of his “Ruthless” EP! A really big release, featuring 5 original tracks, 2 new and 3 that you might have heard before. Regardless, all tracks were great at the very least. The self-titled “Ruthless” was a bomb waiting to go off as soon as you press the play button and one of my favorite summer tracks. Heavy, aggressive, inspired and as the title suggests, ruthless! “Regrets” was also a new track and a pretty good one too, while the other 3 tracks were “GSM”, “Devils In Milan” and “Halo”. 3 of Drivepilot’s older tracks but as they say, great track never get old! A great EP overall, as expected by Drivepilot and i think i don’t even have to suggest that you check it out if you somehow missed it!

Dead C∆T Bounce “Movements” EP [June 13 – Dga Fäu]

It wasn’t long, only a few days actually, until the “Movements” EP by Dead C∆T Bounce was out and about to blast some trashed up strings and orchestral sections through our speakers! A highly anticipated release and it wasn’t hard to understand why as soon as you presseded play. In addition to the 2 great originals “Movements” and “Religion”, putting together on the same release Dead C∆T Bounce, Tom Deluxx, Zomboy and Q.G. was a great idea and would no doubt make this a really big release. Something that is not such a big surprise and is expected by Dga Fau Records anyway! The 2 original tracks sounded already great but as long you listen to the remixes as well, you know this is a must have realease and especially “Religion”, both the original mix and the Q.G. remix are certainly my favorite tracks on this EP and 2 of the best tracks i heard all summer.

Eby le Beatz “Ready To Rock” EP [June 17 – I Hate You Records]

The next release that really blew me away was Eby le Beatz “Ready To Rock” EP. The original mix of the track was released earlier than the EP as a single and was a huge success, as it reache din the #6 of the Beatport top 100 Indie/Dance chart! A really inspired and great track no doubt and one of Eby Le Beatz‘s best works so far. Of course suh a track couldn’t go long without a few great remixes to alongside it so I Hate You released a remixes EP a bit later. The track was remixed by Fresh Foolish, Snapcrack, Konovalov and Hoaxx and the EP also inluded a radio edit of the original track as well. The Snapcrack remix was my favorite out of all of the remixes but in case you missed the original track, i strongly suggest you do! Here it is again it deserves to be posted here again as part of my summer retrspective 100%!

The Boomzers (ft. Circe) “So Fuck You!” EP [ June 17 – Freakz Me Out Records]

June 17 was a big day this summer in terms of new releases and tracks and this Metalectro summer retrospective is taking a trip back to that day for another reason besides the Eby le Beatz “Ready To Rock” EP. On that very same date we had another great release, this time by Freakz Me Out Records and The Boomzers. Well, it was The Boomzers featuring Circe to be precise and the release of their “So Fuck You!” EP was certainly one that couldn’t be ignored in today’s post. Like Circe herself said, the self-titled track is “in your face punk electro released through Freakz Me Out Records” and i certainly agree. Very nice work once again by The Boomzers and Circe. Of course, the other 2 tracks on the EP, “Boom” (ft. Ftampa) and “Discovering Hell” (a remix of the Now In Stereo track), are worth checking out as well butit’s “So Fuck You!” that gets to be re-posted here today!

Metalectro Vol.01 “Electrohead’s Nightmare” [June 25 – Jet Set Trash]

As some of you might have expected, the first official release by the Metalectro blog couldn’t be missing from my summer retrospective! Metalectro Vol.01 “Electrohead’s Nightmare” was released on the 25th of July and it was a 13 track compilation put together by me and released by Jet Set Trash records. Featuring tracks by Rocket, Cosmic Sand, Hack The System, Spunker, Rubber Spanner, Gör FLsh, SKΛNEK, SNOB Electro Sounds, SAWAGii, Guess Watt, Ascii Demon, Aaren Reale and Owl Vision it was compiled to be heavy and dirty and so it is! I guess since it was curated and compiled by me it makes sense to be between my favorite releases of the summer too. Of course posting the full versions of 13 tracks is impossible so here is the preview again and in case any of you haven’t played this before, PLAY IT LOUD!!!

AnthonyF “Fantasy” EP [July 12 – Eikyou Records]

The next really great imo release came alsmost 2 weeks after the Metalectro Vol.01 “Electrohead’s Nightmare” compilation and back then i posted the Mike Rock remix of “Fantasy”, from the self-titled EP, released on the 12th of June by EIKYOU Records. Those of you who’ve been following and reading the blog already know how much i like AnthonyF‘s sound and style in general and “Fantasy” was no exception of course. On the contrary, “Fantasy” EP was a really great release that except for a great original mix byAnthonyF it also included 4 great remixes by The Killers Rabbits, Seb Danova, Soundboysrock and FetOo and they all sounded great. Some i’ve posted here before, like Mike Rock’s remix but it’s very hard to get any better than the original imo so here it is again as one of my favorite tracks of the summer!

The S “Death & Rainbows” EP [July 18- Tuffem Up! Records]

The “Death & Rainbows” EP by The S was released on July 18 by Tuff Em Up! Records and i suppose this was a very highly anticipated release not just by me but by most of you too. I guess most who had heard the preview or had seen the line up of this EP must had been waiting for it and when it was finally released it was as great as anyone could have hoped for! Really, the duo from Italy seemed to be at their best, their sound and synths were really more solid and full than ever and really they took things to the next level with this EP. “Death & Rainbows” EP came out with 3 originals, the brilliant “Death & Rainbows”, “Underdog” and “Is Dangerous” and 2 remixes by the great Redial and Barretso! One of the summer’s and maybe year’s best releases, especially the self-titled track which is a masterpiece!

Cosmic Sand “Back To The Moonlight Sonata” EP [August 20 – Jet Set Trash]

One before last comes Cosmic Sand‘s “Back To The Moonlight Sonata” EP, released on the 20th of August by Jet Set Trash and i have to admit i was really impressed with this one, as it was one of the first releases for the London based label and for Cosmic Sand himself! A pretty good release packed with 9 tracks, 2 originals and 7 remixes by WASA3I, Rubber SpannerThe Destroy Squad, FetOo, Comic Strips, Patient Zero and Asscilator. An impressive line up combined some well known names and some new up & coming producers but what was even more impressive were the tracks themselves. Great melodies, trashed up string sections and orchestral parts, they all found their place on this EP and made it one of this summer’s best releases.

Hack The System “End Game” EP [August 30 – Jet Set Trash]

The release that marked the end of the summer and of the 1st part of our summer retrospective has to be Hack The System‘s debut EP “End Game”, released a couple of days ago, on August 30 by Jet Set Trash. Including some of Hack The System‘s older but best tracks as well imo, the 4 originals “End Game”, “Is Just A Word”, “War Business” and “Obey” demonstrate Hack The System‘s talent in the best possible way. Add to these the 4 remixes of “End Game” by Aaren Reale, Dave ScorpL.A.S.E.R. and Spunker, which all sound great as well and a 5th remix by Kisbeat!&Chemical which was given as freebie and surely this is an EP which fully desereves to be amongst the top 10 summer releases here and apparently also in the #14 of the Juno Electro/House weekly download charts!

So, these are the top 10 releases of this summer according to my traste of course always and this is only the first out of the three part summer retrospective on Metalectro. Unfortunatelly, i am running out of time so i will have to continue with the second and third parts tomorrow, which wil be the top 10 freebies and the top 5 interviews posted on Metalectro throughout the 3 summer mothns.

For now, i think this 1st part should keep you busy and i also have a new mixtape for you as well which i will try to upload and post here today. It’s a good one too! In case i don’t manage to post it today though, it will be posted definitely tomorrow as the perfect way to close this summer restrospective.

To be coninued…
