Following some consecutive “fresh blood” posts and music by artists we only came accross recently for the first time, it’s finally time to get back to some old nasties and bass maestros. Besides, you know that when Mähtrasher Records regulars aUtOdiDakT, Kroyclub, YOL (Your Ol’ Lady) and Trumpdisco come together to form “Team Bass” good things are about to happen. Five collaboration originals by the four artists who once again delivered a monster bass Electro release, like one would expect by them but then again what were the odds they wouldn’t? For those long time fans of “Team Bass” you might get surprised by the inclusion of a Trap track as well on the release, although to give credits where due, it’s not the usual generic Trap and it still maintains the character and sound which defines the label and artists. Good stuff no doubt, especially when good heavy Electro is getting so hard to come by nowadays. And while Europe is cheering for their favorite football national teams these days we’ll stick to our own passion and cheer for our favorite team. Bring it home “Team Bass”! Continue reading »

When you start the day by having to actually review your posts and decide to actually move them to the trash instead of publishing them (and not because you aren’t happy with the write up but with the music itself) you have to admit it’s becoming increasingly harder to find music you consider is worthy of writting about. Thankfully, there’s always some new (or newly discovered) producer out there who ends up saving the day and today it was Brook Line‘s turn to do so. An artist never heard or talked about before on here, Brook Line hails from France and produces a mix of Techno and Electro/Electronica which seems to be winning more and more points in our book lately. Out on Mouton Noir Records (back in February), this is Brook Line‘s first EP and definitely sets the standard high for what’s to come next from Parisian producer. Check it out! Continue reading »

Bringing out the heavy stuff today with a new Dubstep release from Architekt and Impossible Records so prepare to get loud boys and girls! Hailing from Philadelphia (USA), Architekt is a name that we came accross only days ago with his “Deadly Styles” EP. Previously featured on other Impossible Records releases as a remixer it was about time for Architekt to take main stage with his new EP and that’s exactly what he did. 5 original Dubstep tracks, although only the 2 of them have been made available on Soundcloud for the time being, with the self-titled EP track “Deadly Styles” (a collaboration with label boss KJ Sawka and also featuring Messinian on vocals) being the highlight of the release. Extra points to Architekt for his love of heavy guitars too (what can I say, we like our guitars). Definitely Architekt‘s finest work up to date and an EP to check out if you’re after some heavy bass and some Dubstep that doesn’t feel “forced”. Continue reading »

The summer is officially here and what better way to get it under way than with some brand new F.O.O.L music? It had been a while since we heard anything new from the Swedish producer, leading us to think that F.O.O.L might be coming to an end but boy aren’t we happy to be wrong? “Showdown” was out just yesterday on Monstercat and despite it’s more summery feel and funkier vibe it definitely is the kind of track one would expect by F.O.O.L. Classic F.O.O.L melodies and sound, simply dressed up more for the occassion (being no other than the start of the summer). Maybe more reminiscent of French Electro acts like Daft Punk and Justice at points (but then again who isn’t?) F.O.O.L has shifted from the darker and overall melancholic feel to more “airy” and uplifting ones in “Showdown” and it actually works great in terms of giving a fresh tone to the track. Still though it remains an instantly recognisable F.O.O.L track and all those who love the Swedish artist’s previous music should enjoy this one too. Continue reading »

Andreas Rund is a name we only came accross very recently (as in about a couple of weeks ago) and istantly fell in love with his deep and dark music. Taking a closer and more careful look of course we realised the Czech Republic producer wasn’t as “new” as we initially thought. Formerly know as Atrey, the artist has gone through a complete transformation (this isn’t just a cheap and quick paintjob) and it’s definitely a very interesing one too. Released via Owl Vision‘s imprint Comorbid Records, “Gemini” is Andreas Rund‘s first EP under his new alias. Three original tracks moving somewhere between dark Electronica, House and even darker Techno with a clean, deep yet heavy sound this is definitely a debut that sets the bar pretty high for Andreas Rund and can be enjoyed both in a club with some early morning “burnout” sessions or at home. We will definitely be keeping an eye and ear out for Andreas Rund in the future but for now we’re just going to leave you check out his debut EP “Gemini”. Continue reading »
