Continuing with some new music and a release we here on Metalectro were looking forward to for some time now, especially after the release of the official video for Beatbender‘s “Elevate”. But as of today the duo’s debult album “Elevate” is finally available through Jet Set Trash and let us tell you that it doesn’t fall short of any expectations one might have had from the video, lead singles or enthusiastic and boasting press release. “Elevate” LP comes with 10 originals that move between Electro, Techno and Electronica and having listened to the full release (a few time already) it definitely is an album of high quality and production standards. Dark, heavy, elegant and fresh are the words that come to mind to best describe Beatbender‘s album as a whole. From the first second of the opening and mysterious track, titled “The Strange Story Of Elisa Lam” (those of you familiar with the actual story of Elisa Lam will grasp its beauty on another level), to last one of the chilled Drum & Bass “Outro” this is both a great album and one you should definitely not miss! Staying on the dark path we took with today’s opening post and here’s Beatbender‘s official video for “Elevate”, from their upcoming debut album, out February 23 on Jet Set Trash. The video, which was filmed and directed by Hugo Magalhães of H-M photography, focuses on beautifully dark and atmospheric imagery which suits the mood of the track perfectly well. Besides it’s not unusual for a music video not to follow a story or narrative, something that works pretty well in “Elevate” and doesn’t make it a less enjoyable experience by any means but on the contrary it compliments the track. As for the track itself, it’s a nice, fresh and dark track which falls more under general Electronica rather than any EDM-esque Electro House sound, as is the whole “Elevate” LP too. If you want to get a more in depth taste you can check the LP minimix here or simply stay tuned for a more extended album review soon. Continue reading »

Hello-o and after a silent period we’re back in full action and ready to make some noise, with some of our favorite artists and sounds. Quite a bit of catching up to do as well since this is our first post of 2015, meaning there are still a few 2014 releases to blogged about since it’s never too late to blog about good music. So, let’s get on it and for starters here’s Beatbender‘s latest single “Elevate”, which was out on Jet Set Trash a month ago, including remixes by Hijack Da Bass and Noblesse. “Elevate” is the second single from Beatbender‘s upcoming LP and another dark, yet fresh, different and elevating track. As for the remixes, Hijack Da Bass gives the original the trademark hard Electro sound we have come to know and love by HDB, whereas Noblesse adds his very own personal touch to the release with an 8 minute long Electro-Techno remix. Definitely a single which especially being the follow up release of Beatbender‘s “Anti Optimism” leaves us vert curious about what the duo’s debut full album will sound like as judging by what we’ve heard so far there won’t be any shortage of moodswings, variety and freshness while at the same time maintaining a dark atmosphere throughout the LP. But let’s wait to hear to more tracks/previews from the full LP before making any further assumptions. Until then, check this one out!

Continuing in the same mood and spirit and next we have a first taste and preview of Beatbender‘s upcoming single “Elevate” which was made public yesterday with this video teaser. Fresh and different, “Elevate” is the 2nd single from Beatbender’s upcoming LP, due for release in winter 2015. After the dark and heavy “Anti Optimism”, the duo’s new single is an elevating track and great example of the thrills and twists the Portuguese duo has in store for us with their debut forthcoming album. The “Elevate” single will be out on Jet Set Trash on December 19 including 2 remixes by Hijack Da Bass who gives the original the trademark HDB hard Electro sound as well as Noblesse who add their own touch to the release with an 8 minute long Electro-Techno remix. Nice and dark looking imagery as well in this video, which only leaves us wanting more and looking forward to both the release of the single/LP as well as the release of the full official music video of “Elevate”, which according to the label’s Facebook page will be made public with the release of “Elevate” LP. So, check this teaser out to get an idea and stay tuned because it seems like there’s plenty coming by Beatbender in the months to follow.

Staying on the dark side of electronic music with a brand new release and the return of the Portuguese duo Beatbender in the epicentre of the heavy bass Electro scene. It has been quite a while, more than a year if not mistaken, since Beatbender‘s last release but they are back better than ever since yesterday on JST Records with “Anti Optimism”, the first single from their upcoming LP “Elevate”. 1 original accompanied by 3 remixes, all of them by artists who release their music on the UK bas(s)ed label. Laforcah who should be more than known among the Electro Punk and trash-heads among you, the Russian devastator duo The Unique Yagark plus the newcomers and impressive I Think I Broke Something who are from the very early stages of their carreer setting very high standards and their vocal remix of “Anti Optimism” is no exception. Fresh, deep, dark and heavy are some of the keywords that come to mind when listening to Beatbender‘s “Anti Optimism” and it’s safe to say that the duo seems to be back for good and stronger than ever. Check out the preview and stay tuned for more by these guys!
