A montly series of Playlists and selection of tracks blogged, uploaded on the channel or featured on the Metalectro pages during this month in one way or the other. Please note that due to some of the tracks being available only on Soundcloud or Spotify (for whatever reason) the track selection might be slightly different between Soundcloud and Spotify. The good news is that a version of this monthly Playlist series will always be available on both services for streaming so you can feel free to pick your poison. A big thank you to all for listening and checking out the blog/channel, to the labels for the promos of their releases they keep sending us and most importantly to the artists themselves for the great music. Enjoy! Continue reading

Review: Mr. Kristopher “Communion” EP
Continuing our descend into the darkest depths or Electronic music’s underground (yeah well, what else is new right?) with a new artist and release by USA based producer Mr. Kristopher, which was out last week on Jet Set Trash. “Communion” is the title of Mr. Kristopher‘s new EP which comes with 5 original Electro (House) tracks. But don’t be fooled by the “genreficiation” we went with because “Communion” is everything you wouldn’t really expect from what is normally considered or perceived as Electro House these days and is definitely no main-stage/EDM material, it most deifinitely is dancefloor burner stuff without a doubt though. Heavily influenced by Industrial/EBM and the dark side of Techno, Continue reading
Review: Dance With The Dead “B-Sides” Vol. 1
Metalheads and Synthwavers rejoice! Long time Metalectro favorite duo and regular Electronic headbangerz Dance With The Dead are back with a new album. “B-Sides” Volume 1 includes 15 previously unreleased originals by the duo (as the title suggests) but don’t let the title fool you because Dance With The Dead are delivering some grade-A material right here, full of their characteristic brand of dark Synthwave for which they are known and loved for. Influenced by 80’s horror to 80’s Thrash Metal, as one would normally expect by Dance With The Dead, at least with their previously recorded/older material (and we’re not trying to predict or imply anything by saying that – just to be crystal clear) the tone is set right from the Continue reading
Review: Stilz “Starcrash” LP
The good people over at Lazerdics Records are gracing us once again with their presence on our cyberspace (for the second in the last couple of weeks), this time with a new LP coming by Calgary, Canada, based artist Stilz who appears for the first time ever on Metalectro but hopefully not the last. The Canadian artist had his new album released a couple of weeks ago (January 13) including 11 tracks, 9 of them being originals and the remaining 2 remixes/VIP versions. Admittedly Stilz‘ “Starcrash” took a while to grow on us since we were skeptical about it for some time (truth be told), although after a few listens its more stripped down, atmospheric Synthwave approach and 80’s Electronica influences finally Continue reading
Into The Pale Abyss “Frobidden Songs” EP
Canadian duo Into The Pale Abyss (aka IPA) are back with a new (free) EP on JST Records. Released on December 26th, the duo’s follow up to “You Can Never Win” is titled “Forbidden Songs” and comes with five new original tracks which further develop Into The Pale Abyss‘s love for dark atmospheres and horror movie influenced concepts. Following in the footsteps of artists like Owl Vision, Aglory and of course Gesaffelstein, their mix of dark Electronica, Electro andTechno is as hypnotic as it is powerful and dynamic, combining slower and “darker” parts with faster paced or more aggressive ones. Surely not the work of a beginner some might think since it takes some musical maturity to find the right balance and make those dynamics work well and they’d be actually right. Continue reading
