A artist name that we have definitely missed the last few months is that of our favorite priest duo You Killing Me, who just had a new release out a few days ago on Freakz Me Out and therefore we have something new by them to talk about. The duo had their “Lonely” EP, which includes 3 originals, a few days ago. Two of the tracks have been made public for a while ago (“The 300 Spartans” and “Jean D’Arc”) on the artist Soundcloud but finally saw an official release on February 18, together with the EP same-titled track “Lonely”. Those who have been following You Killing Me‘s work for a while should know what to expect in “Lonely” which follows in the footseps of the most recent You Killing Me work and if you like their vocal driven yet powerful tracks then you’re going to love “Lonely”. And as if the new track/release wasn’t enough to make the duo’s fans happy, an unofficial video for “Lonely” was uploaded on You Killing Me‘s channel using footage from a short film by Adam Berg and Stink Digital titled “Philips Carousel” and let say that the result is looking great, making the whole audio-visual package and experience very enjoyable. So, here’s the unofficial video for “Lonely” and we hope you like it as much as we did. Continue reading »

Starting the day with a new release coming by a name and label that have both been featured here numerous times in the past, not as much recently though. The Slutgarden are back with a new EP titled “Odd Night” though, released on Freakz Me Out a few days ago and hence their return on Metalectro too. A nice 2 original track EP, staying on the hard, noisy and dark side that we both love and are used to by the French duo. Not the hardest or heaviest release we’ve heard by The Slutgarden but nevertheless a nice one so hit play below and check it out!

artworks-000078607035-957ka1-t500x500Next comes a preview of an upcoming release and a single by Baseface that drops on May 13th through Freakz Me Out. A nice guitar fueled and vocal driven original that certainly sits well with our tastes and pleases our eardrums. Obvious rock and not only influences by Moscow, Russia, EDM producer Gordy and british multi-instrumentalist, ex-Prodigy drummer Kieron Pepper who together they have formed Baseface and definitely a nice track and preview that serves as a great appetiser but has left me hungry and curious to hear more by the duo. Until tomorrow though that the full track will become available this all we’re going to get from Baseface  as far as new tracks go so check out the preview and stay tuned if hungry for more.

artworks-000077565718-1d1n24-cropNext new release that is certainly one many of you hard Electro-freaks were most likely looking forward to as well is the Hypomaniacs new EP, out a week on Freakz Me Out. “Brazen” contains 2 new originals by the South African duo who do their thing, remaining loyal to their hard-trashy-distorted Electro sound and vocally dominated tracks, as one would expect since it’s been the trademark of Hypomaniacs since the beginning. Personally and being a fan and follower of Hypomaniacs since day 1, i have to admit not being as impressed with “Brazen”, not because it isn’t a good release but because it feels as if the duo has stopped developing and evolving musically. The aggressive character and bad-ass trademark vocals of Stacey Hypomaniacs in tracks like “Breach” or “Systematic” are being slowly but steadily giving room to melodic vocals and even though the production and tracks are still hard and powerful in their majority they feel as if they are lacking the character or inspiration the previous Hypomaniacs works had. By all means this is a good release and what all fans of the duo would expect by them so you should definitely check it out, even though it feels like there is way more talent and potential to be unlocked with this duo, especially if they want to keep impressing and exciting their fans as they used to do in the past.

Hell-o all and after a break from blogging yesterday it’s time for some mid-week bass and a few nice new sounds. So lets get started and for those of you looking for some nice electro, Megastrom had a new EP out a couple of days ago on Freakz Me Out with 2 new originals that should serve that purpose great. The full sounding Megastrom synths we have heard in the trio’s previous works are back, fresh and even reminiscent at points of the good old hard electro days. “9 Nights” EP is what one would expect as a follow up release after “Remind”, combining the old and new and finding the balance between a more current sound and the hard electro sound you would hear a few years back. Definitely a fun EP to listen to even if it’s not going to be your favorite release of 2014, so here’s the preview and you should absolutely check it out.
