The summer is officially here and what better way to get it under way than with some brand new F.O.O.L music? It had been a while since we heard anything new from the Swedish producer, leading us to think that F.O.O.L might be coming to an end but boy aren’t we happy to be wrong? “Showdown” was out just yesterday on Monstercat and despite it’s more summery feel and funkier vibe it definitely is the kind of track one would expect by F.O.O.L. Classic F.O.O.L melodies and sound, simply dressed up more for the occassion (being no other than the start of the summer). Maybe more reminiscent of French Electro acts like Daft Punk and Justice at points (but then again who isn’t?) F.O.O.L has shifted from the darker and overall melancholic feel to more “airy” and uplifting ones in “Showdown” and it actually works great in terms of giving a fresh tone to the track. Still though it remains an instantly recognisable F.O.O.L track and all those who love the Swedish artist’s previous music should enjoy this one too. Continue reading »

For those of you following closely the artist’s social media you must have probably known that F.O.O.L had a new EP coming on April 20th and finally it’s here! Out yesterday on Monstercat, the Swedish artist’s new EP is titled “Knight” and includes 4 new original tracks which combine those melodic trademark F.O.O.L sounds we’ve come to know and love during the last few years with darker and atmospheric parts and of course the neccessary amounts of bass and boost to get you moving and going wild (on the club dancefloor or your bedroom floor). And if that sounds a bit too familiar and expected for those of you who’ve been following F.O.O.L for a while, watch out for the last couple of tracks on theEP (“Fairytaler” and “Distorted Rreality”) for some fresh sounding mix of Synthwave, Dubstep and Electronica to spice things up. Definitely a new release to check out but then again isn’t that almost always the case with F.O.O.L? Continue reading »

Hell-o all and today we have decided to go a bit stingy with our posts so instead of posting full releases we will stick to the tracks we really thought stood out from their respective releases. So think of today’s session somewhat like a selection of newly released tracks, coming in parts. And to start with, we have something special as anytime you see these artists mentioned in the same sentence it has to be great news, let alone in the same track title. Finally, for those who had been looking forward to this one, the F.O.O.L & Didrick remix of Astronaut‘s & Far Too Loud‘s “War” is out on Monstercat and it sounds as good as one would expect it to. All the trademark sounds and characteristics that have made F.O.O.L an Electro fans favorite since the very beginning are there, perfectly balanced with the elements that made Astronaut‘s & Far Too Loud‘s original such a great track. This is Electro House at its best and a must check out remix, which definitely lives up to the expectations created by the names involved in this collaboration as well as the original. Enjoy! Another release that has definitely stood out so far this week is by the French up and comer and super talented artist that goes by the name M.A.D.E.S. So far M.A.D.E.S has been featured a few times here with some free tracks and has been mentioned for his collaborations with Blaster and official remixes for Dizkodeath and most recently Beef Theatre. All impressive work and definitely paving the path for an official release, which as it was expected followed on the London (UK) based JST Records. And if there is one thing we can say with absolute certainty is that M.A.D.E.S didn’t disappoint. Atmospheric and powerful at the same time the 2 originals move between orchestral hard Electro and Electro House with a touch of Complextro. Full of energy and great melodies, the youngster from Lille is the perfect meeting point between Outrun/80’s Electro feel and a more contemporary Electro sound, a perfect mix of Kavinsky and F.O.O.L if you like and you need some references to some more known artists. As for his debut EP “Requiem”, besides the 2 perfect examples of what M.A.D.E.S is capable of in the 2 originals the EP comes with 2 remixes too by GoingNuts and No Fake? who both gave the tracks a Dubstep twist. Definitely a release to check out and even more definitely an artist to keep your eyes and ears on as we are more than certain that this is only the beginning!
