Contiuing today’s bass assualt with some damn great sounding Drum N Bass and a preview of The Clamps‘ ucpoming “Dvouglas” EP, which is set for release on February 23rd via Citrus Recordings and boy does it sound like a release to look forward to!? Two Drum N Bass huge originals that will suck you in right from the start with the atmosphere the chant like vocals of the opening and EP same-titled create track to only spit you back out when the bass kicks in so you can keep moving non-stop until the very last second of the EP (or at least of this preview). Great energy, rhythm and power overall and if you enjoy good Drum N Bass then this is one you’re going to love. We did and hopefully we’re going to love it even more on February 23 when it’s officially released and get to listen to the full tracks. Until then… Continue reading »

Dope DODFor some of you it might be old news (or even ancient history) but with the Dope D.O.D. new “The Ugly” EP coming up and going already on presale on the trio’s online store we thought it could be of interest to some you bassheads to know that Black Sun Empire have also contributed in Dope D.O.D.‘s new release. Yes, you read that right, the Drum & Bass heavyweight trio is responsible for the deep, dark and heavy production of “Boiling Point” and if that’s not a promising combination of names then we don’t know what is. Of course don’t expect any classic Black Sun Empire Drum & Bass madness on “Boiling Point” but rather a Dope D.O.D. track with a Black Sun Empire certificate of bass. Check out the track and let’s hope for more coming by these two toghether in the future and why not maybe even follow in the footspteps of I Am Legion with a more extensive and ongoing collaboration? Hell-o all and after a quiet last week as blogging turned out harder than we would have liked, we’re back to bass up your Monday and start the new week in a nice way. And we have some big new releases as well that came out last week, starting of course with Excision‘s “Codename X” album which released on Rottun Recordings a week ago. The Rottun and Dubstep big boss is back with 11 new tracks, some of which we’ve caught glimpses of or heard in full length before since they were released as singles and some unheard material. As for what you can expect by Excision in “Codename X”, ear pummeling Dubstep with megatons of bass and excess of power (of course) but that’s not all since the album comes with its fair share of Electro House, Glitch Hop and Drum & Bass/Drumstep tracks. Some on the heavier side and some on the more melodic, the collaborations on Excision‘s album aren’t missing either, with The Frim, Dion Timmer, Splitbreed, Messinian, Downlink, Space Laces and Pegboard Nerds appearing on “Codename X” and automatically making it a galaxy of bass music superstars. And if all of the above hasn’t convinced you about checking out Excision‘s album yet, just press play below and let your ears do their job. Continue reading »

Changing the mood and style with our second post of the day, since we are leaving the hard and dark Electro behind for some pretty nice Glitch Hop and Drum & Bass by Flybug and his latest single titled “Party Animal”. Released on Jet Set Trash a couple of days before the end of 2014 (December 29), “Party Animal” features once more the London (UK) based hip-hop trio Vice Versa on vocals and a remix by RoughMath, who transformed the Glitch Hop original mix into some super sick Drumstep. Nice production and lots of bass on both the original and remix and overall a pretty nice release which was definitely nice to see climbing to the Top 10 Beatport releases earlier this month. Check out “Party Animal” if you haven’t yet!

No lack of heaviness in this one, as expected and if you have enjoyed the previous “Monster” releases by Figure then you will definitely enjoy this one too so check it out by hitting play below and let hell break lose through your speakers.
