Review: Virtual Riot “Nightmare” EP

Going on with quite a highly anticipated new release next, as surely those of you aware that Virtual Riot had a new EP coming these days must have been looking forward to the moment it goes online, which has finally arrived as the German artist has made the full “Nightmare” EP available for streaming on his Soundcloud. Out on Disciple Recordings yesterday, “Nightmare” EP comes with four original Dubstep tracks, one of them being a three way collaboration with Autodrive and Splitbreed. Massive sound design and top production like we are used to hearing and expect at all times by Virtual Riot who this time has not only gone heavier but also darker than most of his previous releases, something that we here on Metalectro can of course appreciate and most definitely enjoyed. Hell-o all and as those of you following the blog and our pages on a regular basis might have expected since the last time we posted about Autodrive and his track “Turbulence 2.0”, here’s a free original by the German artist. “Pitcrusher” was made available exclusively through the Metalectro YouTube channel a week ago but in case any of you missed it here it is again, because it’s simply a track you shouldn’t miss. Big bass, nice groove and even some guitar to spice things up even more, all put together very nicely and resulting in a ‘pitcrushing’ Electro original. Going on with a track by Autodrive, who has only been featured here once yet with a great remix, but now finally nailed his return with this awesome original going by the name “Turbulence 2.0“. Crunchy bass it this goody´s guideline, combined with comforting and boosting dark-ravey melodies and on top even garnished with some guitar riffs! A lovely banging freebie that even caused the young German producer to give away another track after reaching 1k plays and into the bargain i can already tell you about more free stuff to come soon -so keep an eye on Autodrive and also watch this space- for now though just hit the play button and don´t forget to snatch your copy!!!

I´ll keep the fresh blood flowing for the time being and continue with the first remix and freebie too! This remix on the track “The Beast 44” by Leathrface has been done by the German producer Autodrive, a name i sadly missed playing live (more or less, i blame the booze) in his hometown Cologne this Halloween, but luckily made it to be heard by me meanwhile as we all would miss this awesome remix otherwise! Being adorably badass, pitch-black and a hard hitting but hypnotic trasher overall this one would also have been a pretty good candidate for the ROTD, just some tiny things & the direct comparison to my actual pick made me decide not to grant it, apart from that an excellent remix by all means! So PLAY IT LOUD and make sure to grab your copy!!!
