Metalheads and Synthwavers rejoice! Long time Metalectro favorite duo and regular Electronic headbangerz Dance With The Dead are back with a new album. “B-Sides” Volume 1 includes 15 previously unreleased originals by the duo (as the title suggests) but don’t let the title fool you because Dance With The Dead are delivering some grade-A material right here, full of their characteristic brand of dark Synthwave for which they are known and loved for. Influenced by 80’s horror to 80’s Thrash Metal, as one would normally expect by Dance With The Dead, at least with their previously recorded/older material (and we’re not trying to predict or imply anything by saying that – just to be crystal clear) the tone is set right from the Continue reading »

The good people over at Lazerdics Records are gracing us once again with their presence on our cyberspace (for the second in the last couple of weeks), this time with a new LP coming by Calgary, Canada, based artist Stilz who appears for the first time ever on Metalectro but hopefully not the last. The Canadian artist had his new album released a couple of weeks ago (January 13) including 11 tracks, 9 of them being originals and the remaining 2 remixes/VIP versions. Admittedly Stilz‘ “Starcrash” took a while to grow on us since we were skeptical about it for some time (truth be told), although after a few listens its more stripped down, atmospheric Synthwave approach and 80’s Electronica influences finally Continue reading »

Canadian duo Into The Pale Abyss (aka IPA) are back with a new (free) EP on JST Records. Released on December 26th, the duo’s follow up to “You Can Never Win” is titled “Forbidden Songs” and comes with five new original tracks which further develop Into The Pale Abyss‘s love for dark atmospheres and horror movie influenced concepts. Following in the footsteps of artists like Owl Vision, Aglory and of course Gesaffelstein, their mix of dark Electronica, Electro andTechno is as hypnotic as it is powerful and dynamic, combining slower and “darker” parts with faster paced or more aggressive ones. Surely not the work of a beginner some might think since it takes some musical maturity to find the right balance and make those dynamics work well and they’d be actually right. Continue reading »

Coming straight from the future (the exact year of release isn’t known to us) and right into you speakers here’s Lazerdics Records‘ recent compilation “Future Dark Club” Volume 1. Including 12 original songs from some artists you probably are (very) familiar with (Lazerhawk, Dance With The Dead) and some you might not have heard of before, the team over at Lazerdics has put together a nice collection of mainly Synthwave music from artists from around the globe. And as one might expect from such compilations the influences may vary when you have 12 different artists contributing with original music, as is the case with “Future Dark Club” too. From House (“Punkfunk“) to Metal (“The Man Who Made a Monster“) and even Continue reading »

Starting the new week with some fresh new music (from each and every aspect you wanna look at it). Assalm (meaning whale) had his debut LP released on JST Records a month ago and since then the French artist always seems to find his way on our playlists one way or the other. Something that becomes easier of course by the fact that Assalm‘s music is diverse, fresh and combines elements from a number of different music styles/genres. “Rivera” LP, which comes with 9 original songs, is a very unique and rare mix of (dark) Electronica, Techno, Trap and even Darkwave/Darksynth (i.e. “Cavalry”). But Assalm‘s debut is more than a just melting pot of different influences. Well thought of and nicely put together, these elements come together in a way that makes “Rivera” one of those Continue reading »
