Time to wrap things up here and like we already mentioned today we’ll be introducing a new form of interviews here on Metalectro. These mini-interviews will be directed to specific releases that surprised us and found to be more than great. Think of them as a 5 introductory question long interviews directed specifically to some releases we consider to deserve the extra “boost” and attention. So, here is the 1st of those interviews and it’s about Laforcah‘s debut single release “Aileen”, out tomorrow on Jet Set Trash. We have already posted a minimix of this EP here before but both Laforcah and Jet Set Trash were kind enough to make public one more track of this release for us, so read on, turn the volume really high and enjoy!!!
1. Hi guys! Would you mind introducing Laforcah to us?
Hello everybody! We are Laforcah and we’re from Milan, Italy.
We started this project about 1 year ago to try and blend the different experiences we had through the years by being involved in various music scenes. Carlame grew up with punk and hardcore while Luca Pes has always been passionate about EDM and techno music. Laforcah is the perfect mix of our favorite genres and styles.
2. How would you describe your sound?
Well, we try to squeeze in Laforcah the things we like the most in music and life. I’d say our sound kinda reflects our attitude and musical tastes. We love rough and aggressive sounds, heavy distortion and big fat bass. We try to add some sort of a “psychopath” feeling in our tracks in a certain way as well and to surround it all with a little bit of a macabre atmosphere, as we have always been obsessed with macabre and horror stuff. And that’s all, that’s Laforcah.
3. Your debut single release “Aileen” is out next week on Jet Set Trash, what should we expect to listen to in “Aileen”?
This single is what we are and what have to say at the moment. It features the tracks “Aileen”, “The Point” and “Aileen (Dub Version)”. As this is our debut single, and even if we don’t have much of an equipment or experience in producing yet, we did our best to find our own sound and style, trying to assemble our ideas in a raw and very sincere way. It’s electro and it’s punk rock at the same time.
4. Who is “Aileen”?
She is Aileen Carol Wuornos, known as the first female serial killer, even if she was not really the first one at all. She was executed after being incriminated in killing several men while working as a prostitute but she always claimed that she it was self defense. The full story of her life is pretty sick and interesting at the same time, so we got fascinated with it and just wanted to dedicate a song to her.
5. What’s next for Laforcah? Should we be expecting a follow up release anytime soon?
Yes, you should! We are already working on new material and it should be out sometime soon on Jet Set Trash. We’re also trying to play as many live shows as possible and spread our sound but it seems like we still need a little help with booking.
